It's just easy peasy. A couple of years ago I deliberately switched my attention to separates, so I can get more variety out of my wardrobe by mix and matching. Recently I was shopping with a girlfriend and I showed her a pair of pants I was considering. She said: I can't be bothered with pants or skirts because it's too much work to figure out an outfit.
