Toured the USCGC Lawrence Lawson with Ben, skipping the long line waiting for a tour (which was actually so awesome to see - really good that people were interested) Nice boat, but wow - tight rack space. My son is average build - 5'11" and trim. I know he has a lot of colleagues at the Academy who are really big guys. Must be really cramped. He had a lot of fun, and is now back out to sea and in Cape May over the next 8 weeks.</p> <p>I forgot to watch Live with Kelly &amp; Ryan on Monday - bad Mom! Ben was in the audience with a ton of Marines who stood and sang the Marine Hymn, a bunch of sailors and 2 other Coasties. Dana Carvey was the guest. Ben had not mentioned this! You can tour many (all?) of the boats. If you are out and about in NYC this weekend, look for the USCGA Cutter Lawrence O Lawson. We are popping up on Sunday to check out the festivities.</p> <p>My son might be on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Monday! They brought a big group of USN and USCG and other military folks in town for Fleet Week into the studio yesterday for a taping of the Memorial Day show. (Guess it's not always live, then....)&nbsp; Apparently Kelly's husband, who is guest hosting, asks Ben if he is in the Air Force.</p> <p>Have a great holiday, American Fabbers! </p>
