I'm also not a big fan of the zipper top of the first one. what does appeal to me about it is that, without the chain, there is a minimum of hardwear showing, so more easily used with gold or silver toned accessories. Since my pewter flats and gold loafers are both favorites, it would be nice to be able to use a bag with both. It's also more grey and a texture rather than a pattern.<br /> However the fold over style of the second is more attractive. It's also a little bit bigger. I think they are really a great quality for the price. If I remember right Isabel got an Elliot Lucca backpack style handbag a couple of years ago - and also last year when we had our So CAL YLF weekend Claire bought one at the swap meet - its one of the ones that she has since dyed.<br /> I love both of the bags pictured above.
