I have seen several faux buckles with magnetic closures so they do exist. I don't buy them because I prefer the real thing. Several things made it really impractical for me. The buckle thing lyn* mentions above is annoying. Also, it weIghs a lot even empty. Third, you can't stuff it or it won't close. I like the simple design and what looks like sturdy leather, but I'm not sure if the smallest size (11", I think) is too small to be useful and if the buckles are a pain to open and close with regular use. </p>
