I have a ballet style called Bryan (I think). The leather is extremely soft, the soles are padded, but the arch support is minimal. The ones that fit were about 1/2 size smaller than my normal size. They are very cute but I couldn't/wouldn't walk all day in NYC with them. I really like them but got them on sale and wouldn't pay full price.

I don't know if you live near a Saks 5th Ave store, but they often have some in the store (at least in California).

I thought her business story was interesting - and I remember reading about her years ago. She used to get some editorial coverage in major magazines, but I don't see it much anymore - I guess the styles are not as fashion-forward as others at that price point. There used to be a store here in Wpg that sold them - but the store is out of business. Forget what it was called..... They used to be super-expensive , are they still?

Worth trying. On me they look more frumpy than some other brands. And I think the fit is not made as much for my foot shape as some others. However since they make some comfy pumps I continue to try them on at DSW from time to time since I don't have many pump options.

I have heard of the brand. I wonder if the price point is due to higher engineering design and manufacturing costs due to small numbers being made, rather than huge volumes of shoes being made in Asia. I don't know where the shoes are made, but if made in the States, the costs are almost always higher ( and for good reason).

I tried several different pairs for an outdoor and chose Paul Green instead. The styles I tried looked frumpy and were not as comfortable as the Paul Greens but those may have been a style specific problems.

Note to Peri - I hear you on the company banishment! I can't get around Nike resigning Michael Vick.

I've never tried the brand because of a weird sort of irritation at her. A foot doctor who decides to make healthy women's shoes to help all her patients who are suffering due to shoe fashion. Sounds wonderful, right? Then why does she price them so high most people can't afford them? Seems hypocritical...I'd prefer her to just say "I found a way to make a ton of money and it's more fun than being a foot doctor."

I have 2 pair from Tayrn Rose - a pair of booties and a pair of tall boots. Both have worked for my feet. I also like that they leave little rose footprints behind in the rain . . . okay, I am better now, really!

Both have a smallish heel on them no more than 1.5 inches.

They were comfortable, but nothing to rave about. To be honest, I think my 1/10 the price Clarks are probably more comfortable. That said, both pair of boots have gotten a lot of compliments. They have a higher style factor than my Clarks for sure.

I have a pair of Taryn Rose sandals, like Diana. And I too sorta felt they were overpriced, but if the pricing has come down...

... On the otherhand, those sandals were the only Taryn Roses that ever worked for me - albeit they worked well and still do.

These are not the ones I have (mine are old) but see how the arch support sticks up? That's what I'm talking about. It keeps my flat foot from pancaking out.

I bought several pairs in the past, but it's been years now. There used to by a Taryn Rose store locally--Santana Row--and I would often find decent styles there on sale. Not sure why I stopped except I don't see them around much now. I certain continue to have foot problems.

Hmm--now that you've reminded me, I think I'll take a look again. Barking Dog Shoes has recommended them for PF. Now I do remember one of the problems I had is sizing--either the brand didn't have a 10 1/2 or stopped at 10. My feet grow--not as fast as my waistline, but they do need a bigger size.

I have a pair of her sandals. They have a brilliant rigid arch support thing on the side that I wish other sandals had.

But I kind of think they are overpriced. The support on Naots is better in general.

ETA: I just checked your link and it seems they have gone down in price in the last few years. They used to be in the ~$300 range (like Anyi Lu). So perhaps not so overpriced any more.

I had a pair of Taryn Rose brown leather pumps years ago. I picked them up at Winners where, even discounted, they were a pricey shoe (for me). But I couldn't resist bc they were the most incredibly comfortable shoe ever! I think I finally got rid of them last year, but only because I rarely wear pumps. I always keep my eye open for that brand at Winners since I know how comfy they are. My feet have changed a bit since then, but I think they are worth trying.

I used to admire them on a colleague, several years ago. I liked the elegant, arty style of them back then. (They look a little more mainstream these days, or perhaps arty has become more common.) I've tried them on at discount stores like DSW or Nordstrom Rack, but I've never bought any. They did feel comfortable. They don't have the shaped footbeds of Naot. In my mind, they are similar to Anyi Lu, beautifully made and supportive, not orthotic-like inside or out.

In a google search regarding shoes for PF, a familiar name that kept popping up was Taryn Rose - particularly when it came to properly supported flats. Is anyone familiar with this brand or have any experience with their footwear?

Here's a link to their website if anyone is interested http://www.tarynrose.com/
