You are definitely not alone, I am one of the 'big-headed' too. I occasionally find a molded headband that fits me and doesn't give me a headache, but it's pretty rare. Mostly I stick with elastic ones for working out or those stretchy comb ones when necessary.

Headbands were big in the 80s and I tried to wear them. Big headaches for me too. I decided it just wasn't worth it. The stretchy ones never seemed to stay in place, and didn't suit me anyway. Ditto for ribbons.

I didn't even know they made women's versions of headbands! Where I live, they are mostly worn by girls. But even my eight-year-old daughter finds them uncomfortably tight, although it must be said that she has an especially gigantic noggin. (Look at the HEID on that kid! It's got its own weather system!).

I think some people must be more sensitive to pressure against the sides of their heads than others. I remember wearing them as a child, and they were always super uncomfortable and I'd take them off halfway through the day. And leave them at school somewhere, probably. Eventually my mother gave up and stuck with braids and ponytails.

I gave up on them because they camped into my head and gave me headaches. The stretchy one seem to sort of roll off the back. I must have an odd shaped head. I use a rolled bandana or scarf instead.

I have this problem a lot. I've been able to find some that work, mostly at JCrew (which has surprisingly great hair accessories) and Nordstrom. Even with those, they sometimes start out tight and throughout the day they warm up and stretch so that they are too loose!

I gave up on headbands a long time ago because every single one (except for the stretchy fabric ones, which are really only good for working out) gave me a massive headache. Plus they fight with the legs of my glasses and everything goes askew.

YES! I have trouble with all headwear being too small. Me and my giant head. At least in hats you can buy mens' versions, but headbands are another thing.

Yes. And they push my hair around in funny ways. Yet I love them... I have to do ribbons that tie.

I have the opposite trouble - not tight enough. Maybe find a malleable metal one you can bend to the right shape.

i would have loved to wear headbands but it seems like every time I try one, they are always too tight and give me a headache. Am I the only one who has this problem? Is my head too big?:)
By the way I tried the stretchy kind and they usually supertight as well
