I also have Reynauds (so interesting to see how many of us), so my hands are often freezing esp in the winter. generally, I think I'm pretty balanced. Was blessed to not suffer hot flashes in menopause. I dislike getting overly chilled in AC, but I can't bear this high humidity we have in DC so would rather have the air conditioned to be dryer, and wear long sleeves. Our AC sensor is on the top floor of the house though, and I work 2 levels lower in a basement office, so it's always much colder down here even if thermostat is set to 75 or so. We turn it down to 70 to sleep.

I love hot evenings outside in the summer, not needing to cover up.

I run cold--but I run hot, too. So I prefer to dress in layers. Being able to add or remove a layer or two is essential to my daily well-being.

Kate, I can identify. At that time of life I needed the moving air of a fan or ceiling fan and humidity was awful. My hands and feet have always been cold, so much so that I am uncomfortable if they are warm. For that reason I wondered if I could live through a summer without sandals.

Jules, I use drinks to warm up or cool down too. Last night DH just shook his head when he asked why I was making hot tea. To warm up, of course.
Cold drinks saved me during menopause. The heat of that time of life is an interior one. Nothing was as helpful as a very cold drink of iced tea.

I used to feel the cold. I ran so cold I wanted to be wrapped in a blanket when it got below 65. My DH used to call me bloodless, I ran so cold. My hands and feet were always freezing, even at the height of summer. Menopause must have flipped a switch. I had no hot flashes, but all of a sudden it became the heat and humidity I couldn't stand. I loathe it. I am miserable. And I live in D.C., where we have lengthy, hot/humid summers that often linger into October. This year, the 90-degree days started in June! Ugh! At home, we run the AC at 77 F 24/7 and we sleep (DH runs hot too) with a table fan and overhead fan running as well. Weirdly enough, my hands and feet remain freezing.

I’m just way more temperature sensitive than my husband in both directions. I will find it cold, hot or ‘stuffy’ and need to adjust something way before my husband will. Same with food and drink - I want my cold drinks iced and my warm ones HOT, food too. Compared to him I’m a total fusspot!

I am always cold, and glad to hear I’m not the only one who keeps the thermostat set to 78 in the summer. The only time I ever ran hot was when I went through menopause (at age 35) and I got hot flashes. I absolutely can’t stand cold air blowing on me and am always walking around with a sweater just in case.

I used to run cold, but I’ve never been a fan of extremes on either end of the temperature spectrum. Menopause changed that. Even with Reynauds, I’d rather be on the cool side and put on an additional layer or move around more. When it’s hot, there are only so many clothes you can take off, ya know?

Yesterday I was out taking photos in a botanic garden. The glass conservatory pavilions were so hot, that even though I was wearing shorts and a sleeveless tank, I was dripping with sweat even when I was barely moving. Meanwhile there were a couple of young women nearby taking selfies, wearing skinny jeans and long-sleeve tees, and I was like WTF? I feel like a different, ugly, sweaty species from these people.

I am odd in that I don’t like to be chilly, but I like my environment on the cooler side, so I need to dress accordingly. 72 degrees F is considered room temperature. At 72 inside, I am a bit too warm. 72 outside with a breeze is a perfect day for me. Sadly, we get about 4 of those a year.

Jenn, I had not seen or heard of that device and will be watching this thread. DH may also be helped. He does not feel heat or cold and can not sweat on the entire right side of his body after a stroke several years ago. That may be part of his always feeling too warm. I wonder if this device could help him.

Shevia, or they go to Arizona for the winter. Some have camper vans. You should see all the campers going south right after Thanksgiving and back north in mid to late May.

I run very cold and have Reynaud's in both my fingers and my toes. I think I had two weeks of warm flashes when going through menopause. It has to be near 80 degrees before I consider wearing sandals. I used to run warmer but never hot.

DH used to run quite hot, but then he lost a lot of weight, maybe 15 pounds, and then developed low thyroid, lupus, and a host of other medical issues -- and now he runs fairly cold. I am searching for stuff he can wear inside other than sweatshirts and the like.

I must be the only one, but I have ALWAYS run hot. I get overheated very easily, and AC can almost never be too cold for me. We keep the house at 68 year-round, though DH tries to sneak it up in the summer. I can feel it immediately when I walk in the house when he's turned it up. I'm not sure I will recognize any difference when/if I get hot flashes!

DH teases that I just have a very small "comfort" window for anything. I almost always wear sunglasses, and I am very sensitive to noise levels, as well.

I run extremely cold, don’t like AC and don’t have it at home. It is currently 31C inside our home and about 38C outside. Humidity is around 30% - is this still considered dry? I am still feeling fine at this temperatures. But I hate sitting in my AC cold office, and always keep spare scarfs and pashminas around. I also always wear toppers and I am still shivering with ice cold purple fingers. Few times per day during the summer I go outside the office for a quick walk in the sun just to warm myself.

I thought there was something wrong with me, because I’d be wearing a down jacket, and my husband would be wearing a windbreaker. But on our recent trip to Alaska, other women were bundled up like me, and my husband was not. I think that might be his super power - he doesn’t feel cold. I do know that once I get cold, I can’t warm up again without a hot shower. It’s kind of inconvenient, sometimes!

I am usually cold except for hot flashes! Then I find I get nice and toasty warm and a flash hits and I'm throwing off the wraps. When these pass I will probably go back to being cold all the time :)
