OK, it's dark now and the new photos aren't great but I was motivated to try your styling suggestions.

Pic 2 is with a thinner roll on the jeans, a belt, shirt tucked in front and necklace.
Pic 3 is the same as above but with one of my jackets.

Of course I couldn't find the bracelet I wanted but ran across the necklace during my search. I think it belonged to a great aunt - I've never worn it.

I rather like it with the jacket. Rachylou, am I still hip and streetwise? : )

Jenava, the jeans are rolled twice in this picture. When you say one less roll, do you mean the jeans should be IN the top of the boot?

I think this looks cool! I'd add a scarf or necklace and maybe a leather jacket or blazer. I'd also like to see the jeans with a narrower roll and maybe with one less roll to them.

Angie, thanks for the midi skirt suggestion.

Kellygirl, I have a blazer in about the same color as the top and also my navy Academy blazer. Maybe one of those would work.

Rachylou, I'm chuckling at hip and streetwise - if you knew me you would be too! But thank you. The dark olive is what I've been considering for my neutral, kind of like Suz's taupe. I have a scarf in mind to try and also have a beaded bracelet in the same colors.

Inge, thank you for the suggestion to roll the jeans. I'll try some of the suggestions in this thread and hopefully post a WIW soon.

Thanks!

I really like it just the way it is, Pil, and also love all the suggestions to change things up a bit. If it isn't too warm in your neck of the woods, I could also see this working with a fab jacket or blazer.

First, I love the dark olive of your long sleeve tee. The dark denim and rolled cuffs are hip. This is a streetwise look and not a little-lady one and I like it. A feminizing touch, tho, wouldn't put you wrong. A long pendant necklace on a thin chain, a long wispy scarf, a bracelet - they'd all finish the outfit off nicely.

I see a bit of bunching but it isn't a deal breaker for me. I think the dark wash makes it look pretty polished. I bet you could pop a blazer on over this too. I really like it.

How about wearing those boots under a midi skirt?

Semi tuck the top and scrunch the sleeves. I love this rolled jean look with the boots. Tres cool! You could add a scarf too.

I think if you added a long necklace or scarf it would help to elongate you and correct what you seem to be questioning. The rolled pants with the boots work at least in my humble opinion....

You gave me some good suggestions for styling my Anyi Lu boots. I haven't gotten out to look for leggings or a new top, but wanted to see what you thought about Inge's suggestion on me. Tucking jeans just doesn't work for me so she suggested rolling them like Ceit often does. These are the same Canyon River curvy straights in my WIW post.

I'm not sure what the proportions are supposed to be. Is the shirt too long? With the lighter banding from the rolled jeans shortening the line of the lower half, the shirt looks about the same length of the pants. Does this look silly on a 54 year old with too much meat on her bones?
