When I was young and didn't need to keep my knees under wraps for the sake of the viewing public, I would have killed for a pair of high-leg-wrap gladiator sandals like these neutral leather ones on offer from Zara. Back then, nobody had thought of these as something a girl could wear. Maybe Kirk Douglas or Charleton Heston, but not a girl. Now they are available, but my legs from the knees up are not up to the task of a short skirt or shorts. My calves and ankles are still good, though. Is there any outfit with which I could pull these off? Maybe linen just-below-the-knee culottes? Or what we used to call pedal pushers with a tunic? A longer skirt would just cover up the sandals, so what's the point? I just can't figure out the proportions, especially since I am not skinny -- 5'8" and sz. 12.&nbsp; Suggestions, please!!! </p>
