I would like to see the gold clutch Diana. I love the dress and like the shoes, just to my matchy-matchy eye it needs some more gold to make it tie in and look intentional to have gold rather than dark shoes? I think the clutch hopefully accomplishes that. I find comfort really important these days and the shoes are. It also seems wasteful to buy shoes for this one event UNLESS you know you will get more wear out of them x

I think the shoes you have will work fine. If their is dancing at the reception, you definitely want comfort. Gorgeous dress and it will keep the focus away from your feet.

Diana, I agree. If the newly ordered shoes work out, then great, but if they do not it isn't worth sacrificing your feet for a single-wear pair of shoes. With the fascinator, no one will be looking at your feet at all, and your dress and hat will be more than formal enough.

So... the reason I don't want navy shoes is because the hat and dress are two different navies. I don't want to throw a third one into the mix! Could do black shoes but that seems boring. (And would have to buy those too.)

I have a gold clutch to go with it as well. Not sure I can do a necklace with that dress so jewelry will prob be limited to a bracelet or two, plus rings. (I don't wear earrings.)

You look fab in the dress!

Somehow with the dark dress and your hair color my eye is looking for more bookending- and maybe "more shoe" since the dress has structure . Though I can appreciate not investing in shoes for one event. I think a darker dressy shoe and sparkly accessories would look great.

It's an evening wedding. Black tie optional. My husband is wearing a tux but is in the wedding party.

I will also be wearing the hat in my avatar photo. Because of this I think I might be able to get away with slightly more casual shoes since nobody will be looking at my feet. That said I do agree with you which is why I initially thought these shoes wouldn't work. However, after my disastrous trip yesterday trying on painful /unattractive shoes now I'm willing to compromise for comfort.

Still hoping one of the ones I ordered will work, but I think these will be a good fallback option.

ETA: Ryce, I know my gold shoe polish matches. I bought it specifically for my old born oxfords, which are the same gold.

It would matter to me whether this was an afternoon wedding or an evening wedding. For an afternoon wedding, I think the shoes are just fine. I like the metallic. For an evening wedding, I think wedges are just a little too casual. I love the dress on you!

I think they work, too! If your polish turns out not to be a good match, do you have a good cobbler who can mix a custom color?
And, who knows, maybe one of the pair you have ordered will turn out to be great!
P.S. LOVE the dress - the high-low hem is so elegant!

A bit too casual, to my eye. And not reading as brightly metallic, although I think you addressed that factor in your earlier comment.

Ok what do you think? I think they'll work although I'd prefer a slightly higher heel. Does the wedge make them look too casual?

ETA: I'm not wearing the right underwear with the dress, and I need to take in the back neck a bit.

I completely agree with your comment re: the Born wedges--the proposed options are so close...and you already have the Borns. I did a quick on-line search and found lots of options that I thought were beautiful, but I can't choose for your feet Are you considering blue at all, or just wanting to go light and pretty with the metallic? I've been admiring these (finds).

Hmm I need to try the dress with the shoes I already have. I think they do look slightly less dressy irl (they have that typical slightly distressed finish that a lot of the born metallic shoes have). I think the heel might be slightly too low (they are 1") but I can live with that. I have gold tarrago shoe cream so I'm sure I can spiff up the finish if necessary.

I was going to suggest these Paul Green shoes. I think they're beautiful. But, they seem to be sold out everywhere. I think shoes you already have would look very nice.

Actually, Diana, unless the wedges in your picture are in noticeably bad shape, I think they could work. The metallic finish dresses them up, some.

Thanks, everyone. Definitely some styles I want to check out here.

So, some other styles I was considering. These are all a bit more casual though. Too casual? I also already own these Born mini wedges (also a bit more casual, but I've worn them for dressy events before), which are a bit more beat up now than they were in this pic but are still OK. They are reasonably comfortable although the front band starts to rub after a long day.

ETA: I kind of feel like all these styles are about the same level of dressiness as the born wedges, though, in which case I'd just rather wear the ones I have.

I think a block heel would be great. I listed some of Angie's picks, but the last shoe is " my" PG I have in black and the soft gold- beige color. You might not want a flat and they are pricey, and maybe not dressy enough, but for me I can wear these all day, so got them as " real" shoes, not just dress-
up, so am getting lots of wears. They work with bunion but stay on feet.

Ryce, I can't keep mules or pumps on my feet at all. I suppose a pump with an ankle strap would be OK though.

First, that dress is BEAUTIFUL! I can imagine it is lovely on you.

I have a similar foot shape to yours, except with a high arch. I've tried a number of sandals in that style and haven't found one that is remotely comfortable. I've tried brands that usually fit me well, and even one in a wide width. It does seem hard to find a dressy sandal in any other style at the moment. Would you consider a mule or a pump?

Hoping someone else has better suggestions than I do. I do think a gold shoe will be terrific with that dress.

I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks. I *think* I have a dress (the one in the find below) - unless I find something better. And I'm all set for accessories.

What I really need are some shoes. My feet are super fussy these days, and my existing shoes are a bit uncomfortable and also not all that current.

What I'm looking for: gold (but will consider other metallics, although I would prefer not super shiny silver), 1-2" heel (I will go up to 2.5 but only if it's a stable block heel), ankle strap or fairly snug slingback, and COMFORTABLE. For me, this means soft leather, some padding in the footbed, not pinchy across my bunion/toes. I have a duck-foot shaped foot - pancake flat, low volume, narrow heels, but with spread out toes and a smallish bunion. Arch support would be fantastic but I can live without it for one day. The dress is quite a bit longer on me than the model so I think a low heel (vs. totally flat) would be better.

Anyway, I went to some stores and tried on shoes yesterday and found literally nothing that was comfortable and didn't look weird on my feet. But shoes are one thing that I have so much better luck with online.

I've ordered the two sam edelman styles below to try.

The VC style is one that I tried yesterday and which looked SO WEIRD on my feet (plus the band was pinchy and the sole was hard). This style seems popular right now, with the narrow band across the front, but I tried several like it and they all looked really weird on my feet, so I think I need a wider band maybe.

Anyway, I would LOVE any suggestions you might have. I am feeling a little discouraged right now. Shoes are so difficult.

Bonus if I can order it with fast shipping/free returns from Zappos or Amazon, as the wedding is in 10 days.
