gp, I don't have those boots, although I'm seriously contemplating them. I've never worn any Aldos, so I don't have any idea how they run. Buying shoes online is always such a guessing game! My feet are narrow, too, so that makes it even more difficult. If I decide to get them I'll let you know how they run.

Rita & Scarlet, I think you may be right about the Timberlands looking a bit rugged. I wasn't sure which would look better for work, the Ecco which is dressy but has a flat sole, or the Timberland which has a heel, but a more rugged sole. Anyhow, I found them on sale at Timberland.com plus a coupon code for free shipping and 20% off, and free returns, plus 6% off with Mr. Rebates, so I think it's worth a try especially with the free returns. It ends up being about $140 down from $230.

I think I will go back and get those Eccos on the way home from work. By the way, Joy is right, they run large (I'm a 7-7.5 and usually wear 38 but fit in the 37).

Parsley, I did see those Aldo Roedigers on the Nordstrom website earlier but they look like they're backordered for a couple more weeks. Do you have those boots? How do they fit? I tried two pairs of Aldo boots (one was the one MaryK posted about and one was a pair of leopard booties) in size 38 (I'm normally 7-7.5) but they were both too small. I wonder if that brand runs small? Unfortunately, they only offer 38 or 40 on the website, so I was hesitant to order the 38 in case that runs small too.

I don't know whether you tried these at Nordstrom:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/al.....ot/3193416?

They also have an adjustable buckle at the top, which might help.

Add me to the list of people with narrow calves (even though I'm not narrow everywhere else!) I don't know about you, but the other problem I have is that they seem to think that if you have big feet, your calves should also be big, and let me tell you, it's not necessarily true!

I like those Timberlands, but I agree with Modgrl, that I am not so sure how they fit with your style. They seem more rugged than I have seen you.

Not sure about those Timbo's; the lug sole makes them look more casual than your usual bombshell work style.

They would be cute with all of your MOTG weekend ponchos.

Thanks everyone for the recs! I popped into Nordie's over the lunch break and tried on several pairs. The Flynns look great but were too wide unfortunately. But the Ecco Hobarts look like they might work if I add in extra holes to cinch it down as far as they can go (thanks for the tip Joy).

The other pair I saw online are these Timberlands:
Timberland Stratham Heights Tall Boot
http://shop.timberland.com/pro.....erland:TBL
It's listed as 13 inch calf and 13.5 inch height.
I think I'll order these and compare them to the Ecco's and report back!
Thanks all!

OMG, Rita! Those are fab! I just ordered a pair because now I'm worried that the ones I have coming from Nordie's are gonna be too big in the, uh, shaft. (Heh. Shaft.) So on Wednesday I should have several pair to try on!

My Flynn's are on sale on Endless -

http://www.endless.com/Miz-Moo.....B004V75KGC

The heel is high but comfy. Get your normal high heel size, not your flat boot size.

They have hidden elastic goring that makes them lie very flat against your leg. They fit with both jeggings and skirts, which is pretty rare for a knee high boot.

I would stay away from pull on boots, they tend to be wider. Zippered boots would probably be your best bet.

ETA: sorry I didn't realize these boots were 3.5" heels! Forget that!

I'll highly recommend that you try these:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ec.....sultback=0
I got these same boots in black last year and got a similar pair at this years NAS in espresso in which the boots can also be tightened a bit at the ankle.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ec.....tback=1724
I may have to get cognac too although I really want a nude or grey.
I know it says 16 inch calf. Mine are 13 inches. A SA had me try them because they worked for her. The secret is the working buckles to which more holes can be added to further tighten the boot where you need it more fitted. They added 3 holes to each of my straps. Now I can wear them with tucked jeans or with skirts. They are very comfortable. I had to size down in these.
Many knee high boots are too tall for me but these are just right. I'm 5'3" and a 16" boot shaft is too high

I've had good luck with Sam Edelman shoes. They are pretty narrow. I also might try looking at Endless.com they can at least narrow down your search for you.

They only search for under 15" shaft width, but a quick search over there turned up over 1000 boots in knee-high, brown, less than 15" shaft. The reviews are usually pretty spot on too. Good luck!

Hi GP ! I just want to let you know that a good cobbler can take in a boot shaft if the boot has a zipper. I found my cobbler by calling Neiman Marcus and asking who they recommend. That was before Nordie's was here. I think that some Nordstrom's also take in shoes and boots to fix them. ( I have several pairs of boots and I have taken in all but two pairs ). I am also a 13.5 in calf.

I'm in the same boat as you. I need a 13-13.5" shaft circumferance as well and will be watching this thread with interest.

I've been looking at these Gabriella Rocha boots, but they're taller than you want.

I tried MaryK's fabulous picks for cognac boots but unfortunately they were too wide for my calves (which are 13.25 inches). I thought I could get away with them because they were only 14 inches but they were still too wide/big. So I need something in the 13-13.5 inch range. Mo had a suggestion for some Miz Mooz Gayle boots which I will consider (thanks Mo), but I'm not so into the foldover style. I just want a simple knee high pair of cognac boots but my narrow calves are throwing a wrench in my plans. Anyone have any leads? Thanks!
Oh PS I think I also need shaft height in the 13-14 inch range because I'm only 5'5".
