Alright, totally passing on these pants - it's official!

Anya, I was afraid of that... lol! Very rare to find pants that don't bunch.

Angie, I noticed that the new BR sloans (not on sale ATM) have a different fabric composition than the ones I bought - do you happen to know if they are as good? Looks good to me, but I thought maybe you would know someone who owns them.

Rae, I'm late to the party but I'd vote pass. Nakidra rocked a pair of the capris here, but I've not seen anyone else wear them. I really wanted a pair, too. The fit is just such a struggle! As everyone else said, it's not you, it's the pants. For sure.

I think the tan ones in the 4 look like they fit ver well. I fully support trying them in the burgandy wool, for what it's worth. I think the cafe capris, however, just aren't made for you.

Rae - those Sloan pants fit you perfectly. Unfortunately I don't think any of these other ones you've posted are 10's. I love the colour of the blue ones but the fit is off. I've seen the new Gap skinny dress pants that Dissertante mentioned - they are very nice. I'm actually thinking of those for my next work pants.

I feel for your pain - finding good pants is next to bathing suits in the frustration level for me.

Rae, I'm sorry but these are just not fab enough for you. The fit is off. I have no luck with their pants either -- I think this is one aspect of their design where they still cater strongly to the rectangle body type.

I am *still* looking for simple straight leg, not cropped, black pants (have been since about August), and have yet to find a perfect pair. So I feel your frustration!

Rae, it's not you, it's them! The pants should be reasonably flat in the front. No pulling, no wiskers, no droopy crotch. That being said, the tan ones in size 4 fit you quite well. They are to thin, but maybe in a deeper color, and thicker material they could work.

Shopping for lower rise pants might just be the answer too! I suspect you have a shorter than average front rise, so keeping that in mind when shopping for pants might be useful.

Amy, I feel a little like some clouds have just parted - maybe not all of them, but definitely a few dark ones.

You know what is true about *all* my jeans? Low rise. Like, 7 inches. And the pants? Junior's section. Even the Sloan description says they sit low on the waist. I'm going to see what happens if I start focusing my search on junior's and low rise styles!

Rae, I don't think any of these pants are worthy of you.

Saying that, I feel kind of like I did when a friend of mine decided to become vegan, and because she knew I did a lot of cooking, she'd ask me if I thought there were any animal products in whatever she was contemplating ordering at a restaurant. I had to keep telling here there was most likely butter or eggs or milk or cheese or something else in the dishes.

I don't like to always be saying "no." It's not fun. But then again, shopping pants isn't particularly fun either, is it?

The issue that bothers me the most about these pants is how they fit in the crotch. The wrinkling there seems more exaggerated than it should be. This seems to be an issue that you've had with pants from a variety of manufacturers.

I'm curious about one thing. Next time you try on pants, if you notice a folded bit of fabric in the crotch area, try pulling up the center front of the pants to see if that removes the problem. If so, that might mean you have a fairly simple alteration available to you. A tailor can lower your waistband a half an inch or so--and maybe just in the front.

Anyway, I hope that's helpful. Like Mochi, I've been sick and the cold meds may be wreaking havoc with my brain ;)

P.S. I didn't like the Gap black skinny pants because they were a giant lint magnet. I know others love them though...so, just consider whether or not that might be an issue for you before purchasing.

dissertante, that is great info - if even the SAs shun them, there has to be a reason! I'm very glad I spent the time to go take these pics rather than ordering them online. I am mad at Gap/Piperlime/BR at the moment for taking forever with a return but, once it goes through, I will get gift cards back to spend there. I will definitely check out those skinny black pants.

Have you tried the Gap's skinny black pants? They have pockets, are a very slim fit, but flattering to various shapes.

Not so sure about the Cafe Capris--on anybody! They're in my return pile and I've yet to find a positive review of them. Always a bad sign when the employees refuse to wear them, too (I asked). The black pants look cute on my phone, but I'd need to see a larger photo.

I think the size 4 Cafe Capris look too big but the size 2s look too tight, or just like they gap at the side pocket in a way that is unintended.

The size 4 Minnie's might work in a darker, thicker fabric. I like the shape of that pant. That said-- I have tried on the Minnie's before thinking, "It's a classic pant shape. It has to work." and they do not work on me at all.

I think your butt looks awesome in the size 2 Minnie's but not in the way you want for work.

The blue is a fun color on you but definitely has a more casual vibe. I'm not loving the Minnie although could work in a darker color.

Mochi, does it seem like I ignore the forum in favor of hubs? I never meant that! He gets an extra vote in things I want to wear on weekends (like the white boots), because I mostly just spend time with on weekends. Also, he says himself that he has no imagination to consider variations like color, length, or fabric, so he is not so useful to me here. I don't want you guys to feel like I am wasting your time!

Can you size up in the blue? Forget the beige, you look like you forgot to wear pants.

A. I'm SO SORRY to subject you to these thin beige pants! The ones I want are a much nicer material and color, but they didn't have my size, and I wanted all the fit issues to show clearly on my phone pics! They are SO much nicer in wool.
B. These are not necessarily the colors I want. Again, I did the best I could for size and photo purposes.
C. Please ignore the length. I'd get the tall sizes for an extra couple inches.

1-3: Cafe Capris, size 4.
4-7: Cafe Capris, 2. Actually, I kind of like this color, but here are the wool ones:

8-10: Minnie, size 4
11-14: Minnie, size 2.
Minnie wool colors:
http://www.jcrew.com/womens_ca...../47383.jsp

So... at this point, I have no idea what a pants crotch is supposed to look like. Do any of these look good?
