I wear my cowboy boots year round, despite warm days, I am usually in AC anyway. I also have a pair of linen cowboy boots for summer. When I am not in boots I prefer pumps over sandals. This let's me wear footpeds and I am not a fan of showing toes. Also my feet sweat a lot and the peds help with the sweat. In sandals I slosh around and get blisters. My only caveat is that my calf size makes *finding* a boot that fits properly to be a big challenge, so I do not have very many pairs compared to the number of pumps that I own. Unfortunately my calf size at the very top seems to have increased a bit in the past year so even some of my current boots are a bit snug. I don't have very good feet/knees so I need shoes with proper soles. (These ones are shock absorbent so they don't stress my knees too much either!)</p> <p>Anyway I got more and more addicted to them that I forced myself to match it with more outfits. I love my boots for so many reasons. I think they look great with everything AND are more comfy than other shoes (no edges cutting into your foot, can wear socks, no flying off my foot, and have room for insoles and things).</p> <p>When it's too warm and humid for boots, I have a few pairs of comfy summer sandals and a few pairs of mary jane type shoes. I cannot wear ballet flats or really anything without an ankle strap of some sort, because my foot won't stay in. I also for some reason find most closed-toe shoes really uncomfortable without socks - I think my Dansko mary janes are the only ones that I can really wear w/o socks as 8 hour shoes but they are suede and not necessarily summery-looking. </p>
