I agree, Windchime. I don't think these will be walking shoes for me either. Just a cute little trendy shoe for around the house or even casual office wear if I ever go back to the office!

I bought Taos sneakers a couple years ago, before a vacation on which I knew I’d do a lot of walking. They were pricey, and I was disappointed that, for me, they were not the all-day shoes I’d hoped they would be. After about one hour, or three miles, of walking, my feet would start to feel tired and sore.

They are very nice looking shoes, and I enjoy wearing them when I don’t expect to walk far.

SUCCESS. Thank you so much to all who shared their experience with this brand. Yesterday I returned the too-small suede pair and was happy to find that the size up actually worked reasonably well. I decided I didn't care for the suede, but took home a pair of Taos Star sneakers in white with some nice tan stitching.

For now they will be "at home" sneakers. Once they've broken in a bit and I have a better idea of how well they really work for me, I hope to add another pair or two in other colours.

Now I am on the hunt for a couple of white seaters to bookend the new sneakers -- one maybe just a sweatshirt and the other maybe something a bit boxy in a loose-ish knit.

UPATE: I can't get the cantaloupe pink sneakers locally, so I started by ordering a different pair of Taos sneakers from a local retailer to test the size and fit in a way that would allow for a local in-person return option. Unfortunately, they have to go back.

The good news -- the arch support seems good, and the shoes are clearly well made. The width was perhaps not what the podiatrist wants for me, but it's not bad.

The bad news -- my toes were hitting the end in my regular size, and the toe box is pretty shallow.

Since I have to go to the store now to return these, I'll try on a size up to see if it offers any hope.

I have 2 pair and I like them a lot. I have average to wider feet. They are comfortable and robust. I have found one pair is rubbing me on the little toe (after 2 months of comfortable wear) but I think that’s just one of those things that will go with time. I like the zip for easy on and off. It makes you never want to go back to a pure lace up sneaker.

Taos boots are VERY popular with my clients - good Seattle shoe! Fits a range of foot types. So I have high hopes for their sneakers.

I've not tried them, but have wider (AA) forefoot and very narrow (6A) heels, so transitional shoes are always problematic!
From their site, all of their shoes looked Much wider in the front than heel- so I'd say it's worth a try.

It's been about 3 years since I bought my Taos sneakers, but for years I bought a variety of other styles from them because they fit my wide forefoot and narrow heel so well. I find them to be very good quality. I have a fairly flat arch and the sneakers I bought had a more aggressive arch than my older Taos shoes did, so I had to take out the footbed and replace it with a different one. I have the impression they have gone to a higher degree of arch support in general than they used to have, so the brand no longer works for me, but my experience with them was always good in the past. I walk a lot and they held up really well and were comfortable. These you are looking at are very cute. I know what you mean about shopping for shoes online. Good luck!

I have these Taos sneakers and really like them. They come with a very supportive insole, that actually was a bit TOO supportive at first. I found my foot would cramp after wearing them a short time. But, once I broke them in, they were fine. The insoles are easy to remove, so don’t let that be your only deterrent!

I have narrow heels and a wide ball of the foot, and they fit fine - no heel slip at all. They are well-made, and I like the extra details that make them different than other fashion sneakers. I would buy again.

I know a few of you on the forum have the Taos Crave boots, but does anybody have experience with Taos sneakers? I am in search of a fashion sneaker that can accommodate a wide forefoot/narrow heel combo. Eccos would be my first choice but they just don't seem to fit quite right anymore. I think I"ve heard Taos are pretty good, so was perusing their website the other day and found these cantaloupe-coloured cuties -- upon which I am currently crushing.
https://www.taosfootwear.ca/co.....9752918070

Any experience out there with fit, arch support, etc would be much appreciated. I really hate ordering shoes online but I can't find these locally...
