I use the unscented mitchum too because most of the other products I've tried have been allergens for me. I use the smart solid though rather than the gel. I prefer that it goes on almost completely dry so no waiting.

Another happy crystal user. I buy mine at Whole Foods. The little travel size lasts a long time and is very inexpensive to try that way.

Our entire family now uses Dove deodorant for sensitive skin. No irritation, no stains on clothing. Even our DD who sweats a lot and tried various deodorants before switching to this one swears by it.

I use the Mitchum Gel. It's one of the best I've found at controlling sweat + leaving no residue or stains on clothes (or under arms). It takes a minute to dry, but it's worth it. I used to only use it for workouts, but it began to put my Secret and Degree to shame.

Thanks for all the answers. I may try the crystal, but I don't think I'm quite no sweat and I do like to stay dry. Hmmm. Thanks for the info.

I have used Clinique roll on deodorant for years...no fragrance, no residue on my clothes. I make sure my underarms are dry before I apply it and then let it dry before I dress. Love it. Costs about $8 but lasts about three or four months.

I also love the Crystal deodorant! I use the men's stick because it was on sale at the grocery store - I don't know that it makes any difference. They seem to be the exact same product.

I'm a heavy sweater, and also get dark deodorant stains on my shirts. It's a combo of buildup and the type of water you have that cause the dark stains. I've tried every kind of stain treater/detergent and it's almost impossible to get the stains out. I use certain dri when I remember and it is convenient (I shower at night post-workout, and certain dri BURNS on damp/freshly shaven arms). I may have to switch to a certain dri/crystal deo regime and keep the traditional antiperspirants for times when I don't get around to the certain dri for a few days.

Another long-term crystal user here. Deodorant, that is.

I also use unscented Mitchum gel deodorant sometimes. It doesn't leave white residue on my dark bras, but a thick layer would certainly dampen a light t-shirt, and I'm not sure how it would dry.

My sister was advised to use a crystal deodorant during her breast cancer treatment because the powdery residue of other deodorants can interfere with the imaging. She liked it so much that she told me about them.

Crystal deodorants work because a thin film is distributed when you rub the crystal on your skin restoring the acid mantle of the skin which, in turn, inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria. Most commercial crystals are made of ammonium alum, but you can get potassium alum crystals at a health food store. Both of these compounds have been used for centuries and are considered non-toxic by the scientific community. The only problem is, like any substance, a tiny group of people could be sensitive to these particular compounds and could develop contact dermatitis.

I like the crystal deodorants because they dry in seconds after applying them without any residue, they work well for me, they are inexpensive (a crystal can last up to a year of daily use), and they are perfect for traveling since they are not subject to any restrictions. I also like that these deodorants are made of a single compound instead of a more complicated formula that includes fragrances.

I also like the crystal deodorant. I don't sweat much, so I just use it for odor control, and boy howdy, does it work! I use this brand http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-.....+deodorant which is probably the most readily available.

After apparently developing extreme sensitivity to scented antiperspirant/deodorant, I've lately been using Almay hypoallergenic antiperspirant/deodorant. It doesn't stain (that I have noticed), nor does it leave a white residue on clothing.

No I don't sweat over much so that's why I'm sure it is the product itself. Especially since the stained things are what I wore when I was barely moving.

But I'm leery of those crystal things...never thought they would work!

Do you sweat much as a rule? If you don't, have you tried a natural crystal deodorant? They don't stain at all. I sweat a LOT, so I use Drysol or Certain-Dri once a month, and then the crystal deodorants daily. The Drysol/Certain-dri stops sweat but not odor, and the crystals stop odor but not sweat.

I've been using secret outlast and it is kind of waxy. I noticed that the old t shirts I put on first thing in the morning are now all stained dark under the arms. Not sweat stains...these are just things I put on while I eat breakfast, do hair and makeup, etc, before I really get dressed...there is definitely no sweating during these times so it is completely a problem with the product. A few nicer tops are showing this as well, if they are things I wore fairly early in the day.

This is really annoying! Has anyone else had this problem, or found a product that doesn't do it?
