Jennifer, thank you for adding the link. I've taken washability off my requirements for jackets-- it's just too limiting , but fortunately isn't as necessary as perhaps having washable trousers and tops for 100+ degree days.

April- I knowwww- that's why I took it home and looked at it for a week.

Jennifer, here is a link: http://www.anthropologie.com/a.....d=23581499

I love Anthro and I'm looking for a blazer, but somehow I managed to skip over this one. I definitely want a softer fabrication, I wear skirts and dresses more than pants, and my waistless torso is okay with a semi-boxy shape--sounds promising! Sigh, if only it weren't dry-clean. I guess that's a lost cause with blazers. The blush colorway is gorgeous!

Thanks for the rec, I'll be keeping an eye out for this blazer the next time I visit Anthro.

Are you sure you can't make it work?

I brought this jacket home but ended up returning it, so I thought I'd see if I could "enable" someone else to like it !

What I really liked was the soft but heavy, drapey, tencel fabric that looked pretty elegant and feminine-gave the effect of a heavy silk twill. I'm always hoping to find really luscious fabrics and textures including the "best imitation" of same.

It seemed to fit pretty nicely but when I used my extreme critical eye it is too boxy right where I do best with a nip, and is so cropped I can't really wear it with my wardrobe workhorses--pants (though is great for skirts and dresses), and the turquoise color just won't play with enough things in my closet--I'd end up needing to build more stuff around it. But maybe not other folks who are turquoise-addicted and who wear more skirts, etc. The turquoise color in that fabric is rich and glorious. I can't wear the blush color, but that's another option.

So, in a way that sounds like the opposite of a recommendation, but it was so close to the type of thing I'd like to find, that this item inspires me to keep eyes open for something with similar features but more right for me. It helps me keep a style and fabrication goal in mind.
