This is a great list - sounds classic and chic. And as long as it's deliberate, which it sounds like it is for you, duplication is a terrific idea.

This is a very concise list but looking at the pieces listed, you have your bases covered. I guess there's no mention of any type of handbag but not everyone uses them.
I would absolutely duplicate items like T-shirts and various black items that you find you are repeatedly wearing- black fades and loses its 'dressiness'.
As for jeans, depending on how your shopping experience has been for this item, being on the lookout and purchasing well fitting jeans in your preferred style and wash will likely save you panic at some point.
I had a pair of my bootcuts rip just this week. I wear this style a lot, I have (had) 4 pairs. Just like that 25% of my stash is gone:(

I'm a newbie, but Angie's wardrobe essential post really tapped in to what I've been thinking a lot about recently as I try to slow down my shopping habits and be much more thoughtful in what I buy. I'm a big fan of buying duplicates of things I love, and I have to stop myself from adding the same type of item over and over to my closet. But if it really is a wardrobe essential, maybe it's not a bad thing to stock up before things wear out.

Here's my list:
-Snakeskin shoes. I have at least 7 pairs of heels, flats, wedges and sandals that I wear constantly. Snakeskin is my absolute favorite neutral.
-Dark blue skinny jeans. This shape and color are the most flattering.
-Striped tops, generally black/white or navy/white. The stripes provide a little something extra in a more basic outfit.
-Ivory jackets. I have an ivory quilted one and an ivory/beige leather one that go with anything and are great to brighten up darker fall/winter hues.
-Long and pendant necklaces, in gold or silver. A long necklace always helps me look put together, and it's enough of a statement piece without being overly fussy.
-White tees and tanks. I wear these all throughout spring and summer with shorts (I live in TX), and I look for ones with unique details (peplums, layers, texture, etc.) to differentiate them.
-Teal tops. This is my favorite color and it looks great on me - I wear it all the time.
-Black casual dresses/rompers. When it's above 90 degrees for 3 months, you will sweat through everything and feel like a mess. Black conceals the sweat and always looks a bit dressier than it is, so I feel presentable. It's also a blank canvas for fun shoes, jewelry, etc.

Does it seem like I am missing anything?
