Thanks for all your responses and support, ladies.

Dee2do, I saw the Portishead in real life and while the shape is really weird, I'm kind of attracted to it.

Inge, I'm not sure I like the pewter. I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that metallics are considered a neutral, and while I'm open to metallic shoes, I'm still conservative about metallic bags for daytime. Oh well, baby steps :)
You're also right on how Matt & Nat "round" shape makes them look softer.

I'm not sure about the white, I'd have to see it up close.

Since I already saw the Portishead in Japanese Paper, I'm now very curious about the Pool material. Hmm.

Again, thanks very much, ladies, I'll keep you posted on what happens.

I also like them both, especially the Hamburg in blue. I think that they would go pretty much with everything, including Docs and feminine pieces.

I like them both! I'm personally partial to the Hamburg in Pewter and hope to get it or another in the same colour for spring/summer I can assure you that these bags are FABULOUS in person.

I like the Portishead, it's very unique! I'm not sure about Docs, I'd have to see it. It could definitely go with other things though, so I think you should get it and just give it a go.

Again, it's hard to choose between these two bags Lena, such great picks, I love them both. (I guess I'm attracted to 'kooky' shapes as well then;-)
I think it's fun to have a bag that's a little bit unusual, so I wouldn't hesitate about getting the Portishead.

The Hamburg is beautiful in red, but I've just had a look at both styles in white (since you said you would like a cream bag): I've never been partial to white bags, but these could change my mind. Have you considered trying them in white? Pewter would be a good colour for Spring as well, but the M&N pewter looks a bit too shiny for my taste (at least online, I haven't seen them in person).

As far as your other questions are concerned: I think they have just enough of an edge to make feminine pieces even more interesting, and at the same time (it sounds contradictory, doesn't it), they are 'soft' enough (I think it's their 'rounder' shape') to pair them with your Docs.
(I am wondering a bit about how the black bag I ordered will look with the silver Docs, so great questions Lena;-)

The Portishead is a weird shape. Did you see the side view? I've never seen anything like it. Interesting. Let us know what you decide. I think they'd go fine with anything. It's nice to mix it up.

Both are KILLER. I see no reason why you can’t make either work all year round for your style. GET!

Hi everyone and happy New Year!

Inge's recent post reminded me to ask your advice on a Matt and Nat bag.

I saw them at Nordies several months ago, and now that they are going on sale online, I'm tempted to try one. I'm looking for a long wearing and light bag that can be used across several seasons. I'd really like a cream, but Matt and Nat don't make one. I liked the grey, but can it be used in spring? I'm not big on black bags, but I'm open to changing my mind. I like reds, but they are not on sale yet (I can wait, though).

I'm weirdly attracted to the Portishead style.
http://www.piperlime.com/brows.....=626304002

The design is very peculiar - you can access the main compartment from both sides. And I can't seem to resist these kooky shapes. I have a short torso, so while I also like the Avril (the style Inge picked), I probably need something less tall. The Portishead fit very well under my arm. There's also the Hamburg http://www.mattandnat.com/product/display/652

A part of me is attracted to the edgy tougher look and feel of these bags. But I also feel like they would wear me and not the other way around. Maybe I'm just not used to the zippers and bolts, I don't know. I know it's hard to tell without a picture.

Do you guys think they will contrast well with feminine pieces? Can they be worn with Doc Martens or is it too much?
