Sorry about the (p)leather jacket(s). I like the first one's fit and the second one's fabrication. You're getting there. I'll be interested to see the one that's on its way.

Both of these tops are lovely and it's hard to tell that they're different sizes. It's nice that you can wear them with confidence, knowing you can return later if they begin to fray. They should be nice additions to your wardrobe.

Thanks! Both leather jackets have been dropped off at the post office this morning. I am waiting for one more "candidate" to arrive on Monday.

Since I don't really "need" the leather jacket, it has been fun to try various options out. I am sure I can hold out for an absolutely perfect one.

Suz and Sylvie, funny about our synchronous shopping. Sylvie, I also have the VC one button blazer on order (it suddenly was only $59 so I decided to give it a try). I think you were trying that one out together with VC tops.

I ordered Shannon's black and white top a few months ago and immediately sent it back - the tiers would not stay flat. For some reason these tops are less fussy, and I like the bright colors. I might keep them and see how long they last - the nice thing about Nordstrom (for US shoppers at least) is that if the quality issues arise, we can return things. I had to do this with a Pleione blouse this year (first time returning a "worn" item to Nordstrom but the fabric just started disintegrating after only 6 or 7 wears, I thought that was out of line).

What was really strange was the solid red VC tiered top - it looked like a piece of fabric was accidentally cut out of one the tiers in front (the edge was jagged), and one of the reviews on the Nordstrom website mentioned the same issue. So I guess it is a good idea to check each of these tiered tops for quality issues.

WOW! Those VC tops look incredible on you!!

I vote return the leather jacket. I really like it open, but it's not as fab closed.

I just bought that VC shirt in black/blue also. I was looking at the Bailey 44 dress, but they just seemed like a whole lot of stripes. Decided to see if they had shirts. The shirts I saw were either sleeveless or had rounded necks. I was in our Nordstrum to see if they had the Biala blue oxfords in store ( they didn't , and I happened across the VC shirts.

Heehee, add me to your group as I too was shopping for a leather jacket (found in Canada) and the VC tops (all returned). I tried on #2, #3 and #4, but not #1.

The Tilly Tahari jacket is a truly beautiful jacket - the color, leather quality, etc are superior to any of the jackets I've tried on. I do like the fit of #1 better but as Suz says, the real leather in #2 just shines.

From these photos, I can't see a real difference in size of the two VC tops on you. Both look like they fit just fine. I felt the solid colors helped camouflage the "ruffling" one gets in the small of ones back. I would suggest you go with whichever size stays in place the best when you move around. I didn't think the unfinished edges would unravel unless you put them in the washing machine. I tried stretching them and they didn't fall out of shape.

Well, it seems we are shopping for the same things. Not only are we both hunting for a leather jacket, but I have also ordered the VC banded tops and my husband will bring them back from the states on Monday! So I'm very interested in your reports about them. It seems people are quite mixed on them, with some saying the edges kept bunching on them and others saying they are no problem. Shannon has had her top for a while...but it may not be VC? I can't remember - hers may be by Bailey 44, the same as the dress? Anyway, I hope someone will weigh in. I think these LOOK very nice on you and show your lovely collarbone to advantage. So it is just a question of whether they seem worth the price, I suppose.

As for the jacket, I don't think this is the one. I may be unduly influenced by the sight of the real leather in the original jacket - it's incredible how different the two look side by side. This one does look quite nice in the back, but there is something about the way the pleather falls that troubles me. Then again, maybe it relaxes after a while. Perhaps someone who knows will comment.

Another leather (or, in this case, pleather) jacket has arrived from Nordstrom (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/st.....et/3334996), photo #1.

I think this is a better fit than the previous jacket I tried (Tahari "Tilly", photo #2) but not quite perfect yet. It is too tight when zipped up but the overall shape and length seems to work better. I probably would not wear it zipped up anyway, and the fit in the back looks good but I might hold out for an even better fit.

I am also trying out VC tiered tops. I tried the solid-color red top but felt very lumpy-bumpy in it. Decided that stripes might be more camouflaging. These are petite sizes; I think the length is about right even though I normally do not wear petites. The red top is size L, the teal top is M. I like the tops but am a bit concerned about the unfinished edges - it looks like they might start unravelling.
