Sorry it's taken me so long to get back:). Thank for all your wisdom on these. I totally agree that heels are the way to go with these and JR I am also thinking g a slim line tunic might be better. I am quite undecided and I have ages to return them, so I will restyle with my sandal/booties and a tunic and post before I make a final decision.

Thanks again xxx

They took off for me in the last picture. I think the key is to watch the hip line. I don't mind the flats, but then I think a longer, tunic-style shirt might work better. (I could be out to lunch on that one, I'm still working on my eye.)

I think they look pretty darn good on you, and definitely show your playful side! I'm with you on whether or not I would wear them, but you certainly *can* if you decide to go there with your style. And they do NOT make your hips look generous!

NO, you don't look ridiculous.

But sorry, but these don't read modern classic to me (TBH, they look a bit pyjama bottom to me). I know that they are super on trend but how long will the trend last?

If you love the floral idea maybe a skirt would work better and if you love the patterned trouser perhaps something more graphic.

I think that you can do better.

I like the look and style on you, particularly with the heels (the last pic is my favorite, I don't care for the others). If you never found another pair of floral pants, these would do just fine. I don't have a real eye for floral pants, nor do I have a poison eye. I'd like to see other options for comparison's sake. Not sure there's a lot of variety out there in floral pants for you to try others, though.

Just popping back in to say don't give up on the slouchy shape. As I mentioned, I like the silhouette of these pants and don't think they make your hips look generous at all. I do like the idea of these pants just not crazy about this particular pattern.

Hi Deborah! I, too, am looking forward to soft, slouchy trousers and have fondish memories of printed pants, although I'm behind you in actually trying them. To my eye, #4 and 5 are working the best -- the heels make a nice addition to the proportion. I'm not convinced of the volume on volume as it appears in the first few photos. I'm hoping to find patterns that are more abstract, geometric or low contrast to try this trend, and I wonder if those sorts of prints would make you feel more "sophisticated" than a straight up flower.

The general idea and silhouette is killer on you, Deborah. I agree with Mandipa about print placement. You might try these pants with other items in your wardrobe.

BTW -- I don't think they make your hips look "generous." It reads as "fabric, not flesh" to me.

Hmmmm...I rather like them! I think you are setting them up to fail in the first pics when you are wearing them with flats :). Heels would work best, IMHO, with pants this bold and slouchy (as you are doing in the last pic). The pattern placement doesn't bother me at all.

Thanks Shannon! Yes I do know what you mean. The more I look the more I think they are going back. My preference is really for a tailored pair rather than slouchy and drapey. I think these make my hips look rather generous:)

Love that you're trying these Deborah - it's good to stretch ourselves from time to time, isn't it? I think you can definitely wear floral pants but there's some pattern placement issues with this particular pair (crotch clusters as Manidipa put it). Try another pair and see if the pattern is in the same spot. To be completely honest, I'm not sure about these pants in general - I adore the slouchy fit on you but there seems to be an awful lot of black to a spattering of flowers, if you know what I mean.

Um, I'm less than convinced about the print placement --- especially the, um, crotch clusters and the bunch at the waistline. Do they have more pieces in your size you could try and compare?

Other than that, yes, I like them! And you most certainly can wear this without any MDAL tendencies! I actually like the way you've styled them here.

Hi Ladies,

I am so disappointed I missed out on the H&M floral pants that the gorgeous Natalie has, so I have been keeping an eye open for something similar.

Found these today. Excuse the poor styling efforts but it's late. And note I wouldn't wear the red pumps, I just wanted to show the pants with heels.

They are a jersey type fabric, so quite slouchy (not tailored at all).

This is a stretch for me.

Do I look ridiculous? A little voice in my head is saying this look is for 20 somethings, and Im a 40 something!

I am not attached to these and would like your absolutely honest opinion. If I keep, I may have to look for one or two tops that work specifically with the pants but that's not a problem if the pants are worth it.

Thanks
xxx Deborah
