I’m wearing a cream poloneck right now (CM). I wear it with a cream cami and it’s totally transparent. I like that look. I think it looks interesting and alluring, yet completely covered up.

Try Gap for cheap L/S layering T's.

Marianne, I agree with Tanya that outlines are part of the deal with ivory or white tops. I think you just accept it and it's okay. They do stand out more if you have darker skin like us, though. For white tops I agree it's nice to have sleeves to protect the under arms of the top, but I think then the sleeves do need to not show the outline. For length, it's different. Yesterday, I was wearing an ivory tunic length sweater and the bottom of the cami showed through, but I think it worked.

Thank you San and Tanya. I have one of those silk shirts, but it's v-neck, so it's not ideal, plus it's fairly old and hence short. Maybe I'll try it since you kind of reassure me on the outline issue, Tanya.

Hi Marianne, I recently got an ivory turtleneck too!

I think undergarment outline is pretty much unavoidable. I still think that's much classier than bra outline. I remember Angie advising to wear a white cami under white button down shirts, so I guess that could be applied here as well.

Anyway, I wore a simple scoop neck tee with 3/4 sleeves under mine (I got the tee at H&M) and it looked fine to me. I have been thinking of getting some of those fancy Wintersilks undershirts, but it will probably have to wait till the next winter:

http://www.wintersilks.com/vie.....ow+cut+top

They come with many different necklines and sleeve lengths.

It comes to mind those very thin silk long sleeved under shirts. You can find them in the intimates dept.

What do you guys wear under ivory and other light-colored sweaters? I have an ivory turtleneck and if I wear a t-shirt or a cami underneath you can see the undergarment outline. Is it acceptable? Ideally I'd prefer some kind of sleeve underneath to protect the armpits. Are there any thin long sleeve undershirts that you could recommend? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
