I love how Borns fit and feel, too! But I would probably reserve these for pants...not crazy about them with dresses, skirts. Sorry:(

Not your style. Onwards!!

It's frustrating, though -- I know when you find a last that feels comfortable it is tempting to keep trying the shoes even if other features of the styling will not work for you.

It is on my other foot, though I didn't pose it very helpfully. Munro, with laces tucked in.

I just watched the video on Zappos and it fits the model the same way. I think it is the [piece that goes up the back of the ankle the makes it look off. I also think they are too 'cowboy' for your style.

bj1111, I'm seeing that too, at home when I can examine. The Born's have that turned-up toe so that plus the buckle can be too much.
I appreciate your raising my fashion bar ! Need to be more patient.

I already have the suede wedge booties to bridge the gap (!), meaning they work with some of my straighter pants that were hanging up on boots, so give me FFBO there, but can be worn with skirts, though that also is a more casual look.

i have a particular poison eye for this bootie/shootie look so take what i have to say with a grain of salt. the fit reminds me of dutch wooden shoes or pilgrim shoes.

not fashionable enough for you.

In the store (found these locally and on sale), I thought these would be almost my HEWI, or maybe semi-HEWI, but trying them at home they gap at the back more than I thought, shown on one foot (my R and is R in the photo). On the L is my laced-up wedge bootie.

There is something about some of the Born styles that tends to fit or support my foot, which is why I think I keep trying them. These are sporty, but a bit less Western in the smooth black than in the distressed taupe. The chunky rubber heel is very stable, and so going more sporty gives me that heel, whereas some of the more refined styles, which would be better for skirts, tend to have more tapered heels (or higher).

Before I toss in the towel I want to try them with pants, to see if I would be tempted to use them for a pants-shootie and toss my other Born, which is more rounded toe, but then I'd have to decide if it's worth it, and if I'm ever going to wear them with skirts. I don't think there's room for an insert or that it'd bring my heel back.

So, they still have some flower--pot effect but a bit less since are more of a shootie than bootie.

Thoughts? Too gappy? Too cowboy? Pants-shoe but not dress-shoe?
