https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/another-fashion-essentials-list Style Advice for Fashion Lovers en-US Thu, 09 Apr 2026 17:51:47 +0000 http://bbpress.org/?v=1.0.2 q https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/search.php https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/another-fashion-essentials-list#post-1172252 Thu, 20 Feb 2014 05:01:57 +0000 DonnaF 1172252@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Wow!!!&nbsp; MuseumGal and I are mirror opposites:&nbsp; I have a number of pencil skirts, but not much else on the list.&nbsp; And my black most basic one is a but um, fluid on me.&nbsp; It works if I have a lot of layers on underneath and am not wearing&nbsp; control top tights.</p> <p>Booties:&nbsp; Yes, have them but my current ones don't allow oodles of walking.</p> <p>Moto:&nbsp; Still looking, so I'm still wearing my c.1989 short leather jacket with the lining held together with seam tape.</p> <p>Sentimental jewelry:&nbsp; I'm not sentimental so I don't/wouldn't have any.</p> <p>Pencil skirts:&nbsp; My most basic ones (in gray and black) are a bit loose; the ones a size smaller are more fun.</p> <p>LBD:&nbsp; Had one years ago that I only wore a few times so I never replaced it.&nbsp; I don't go to those type of soirees.&nbsp; None of my dresses get worn much for that matter.</p> <p>Bag:&nbsp; Too large and the bag looks like it is carrying me.&nbsp; DD has a hobo-esque Mary Poppins bag that expands sideways, so I should really look for something like that.</p> <p>Vintage T:&nbsp; Don't particularly care for them on my body so I don't see the need.&nbsp; I think I will actually buy a short sleeve white T though since I don't have one and don't ever remember having one.</p> <p>Cropped black pants:&nbsp; Are you kidding?&nbsp; On my stubby legs?&nbsp; Never!!!!&nbsp; But I will always have black pants even though I find I wear them rarely.</p> <p>Perfect jeans:&nbsp; Not sure what perfect is, but I do own quite a few pairs in various styles.</p> <p>Pumps:&nbsp; After noticing that I didn't have any, I bought a black leather pair and a black patent pair a couple of years ago.&nbsp; I've maybe worn them twice.&nbsp; Hard to keep on my feet, and I can no longer see myself wearing Mary Janes.&nbsp; Plus, my feet get cold.&nbsp; I'd rather get more booties.</p> <p>These types of lists rarely take into account varying lifestyles.&nbsp; I can't think of a time when I wished I had a LBD and was wearing pumps.&nbsp; Or felt out of place without a vintage T.&nbsp; But yes, I think I will now put a hold-everything bag on my list! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/another-fashion-essentials-list#post-1170745 Tue, 18 Feb 2014 21:43:03 +0000 rachylou 1170745@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Interesting!
