No problem, annabelle. Here's what I'm wearing right now:

3 skirts (largely worn to work)

2 cardigans (one is ready for the "donate pile")

1 blazer

1 denim jacket

1 sweatshirt

1 over-sized sweater

4 long-sleeved knit shirts (way too many - I've realized I only need about 2)

4 tees (all need to be replaced)

3 button-up shirts (gingham, chambray, and light blue)

6 long-sleeved blouses

5 pairs of jeans (dark skinnies, light distressed skinnies, white, and two more pairs that are nearing the end of their life span)

3 dresses (easy dressing for work)

3 dress pants (worn only to work - black, grey, and patterned)

There are a couple of missing items that might be in the wash, but you get the idea. I also have sweats and jammies that I wear around the house.
My shoe situation is also pretty simple right now - I wear about three pairs to work during the week and live in either sneakers or sandals on the weekend. And that list doesn't include winter/spring outwear, which I have to rotate through heavily because the weather changes so quickly every day.

I'm surprised I like the outfits as much as I do. No imagination I guess! Ha!

Because I was thinking, looking at the items individually, what neo-colonialist pablum! Altho, um, it might still be that even if I like it...

This kind of capsule dressing seems dull to me, and the idea of arbitrarily limiting yourself to a certain number seems too school dress code. I prefer to buy items that go with other pieces I have, and occasionally get a small chunk of stuff that intermixes (like Angie's ideal small capsules.)

Interesting, after having done the 30 piece capsule for the last 29 days I am not sure about having a strict capsule.

I have had fun though and learnt some lessons about myself and where new additions need to be.

I was hoping from the word "another" that we would get to see a capsule that curated by someone other than Caroline at Unfancy. I love her looks - for her in an Austin climate - but as someone who doesn't really enjoy shopping, it would be ideal to find myself a blogger who has a style that I want to replicate right out of the box. (I like http://www.girlsofacertainage.com hosted by Kim French, but she has expensive tastes, heh.) Angie's capsules and ensembles are helpful, too, as we all know!

NIKI LEA - Would you share photos or even quantities of what you ended up in your 40 item collection? I love having a small wardrobe, and sometimes I worry it might be too small, and other times I worry I spend too much on a cotton blouse. Or worse, spend way too much time looking for that cotton blouse. :)

The timing of that article is so strange given Caroline's announcement that she's not blogging anymore. I didn't mind her most recent capsule, but felt it wasn't accessorized enough. That's my own personal taste though.

About a month ago I filled two big garbage bags with clothes from my closet and dresser, and donated them. I'm down to about 40 items that I'm wearing every day, not counting workout clothes and pajamas. I also have some seasonal winter stuff pushed off to the side in my closet - some of them I suspect I will be getting rid of next year.

Anyway, it is so, so, so much easier getting dressed every day. And I am learning that even 40 pieces might be more than I need. Honestly, it's been totally liberating! I haven't bought a stitch of clothing in the past month. In June I will replace my basic summer tees, buy a new pair of jeans, and pick up some summer sandals. But that's it.

Is Caroline/Un-fancy blogger involved in creating this article, or did they just 'borrow' her pictures and capsule concept? If the latter, than that's rather sketchy. The article's not written very well so it's hard to tell.

Caroline (who has just announced she's 'taking a break' from blogging) has admitted that she takes all her pictures at once at the beginning of a capsule season, so I'm not terribly convinced that she always wears what she posts. Not to mention she works at home and lives in Austin, so the weather's warm all the time and she has no limits on what she can wear. Not really challenging, compared to what most women have to deal with.

Yep, read that article earlier today. Interesting and very casual capsule. It would almost work for my typical lab days ( I would have to substitute all the shoes for closed toed ones and bottoms for long pants/jeans). Even though I really like it, I would still be bored if those were my only choices.

This capsule seems to have too many clothes in the blue family, but it's interesting to see the different looks it creates.
