Thanks, all! Carla, that beret is so perfect for you — great score!

Jenni, I have a pair of black velvet jeans from about ten years ago, but I never wear them because they are the type of velvet that is a huge lint and pet hair magnet! I would need to put them on and race out the door, but even then I’m sure I’d pick up dog hair in my car and the effect would be ruined, LOL. So I think I’ll give away the old lint magnet now that I have these, which are simultaneously more current and more classic.

The weather has now cooled off and soft plaid shirt days are upon us. I almost wore it yesterday but went for another outfit instead. Maybe today!

All look great! I once had some dark blue velvet pants about 20 years ago. They got heaps of wear, I remember.

The KUT sweater is very pretty. The capsule looks like it should fit seamlessly into your closet.

I just finished the annual autumn wardrobe audit (for me and for DH.) I’m looking at adding a wine/merlot/burgundy sweater. I already had a wine beret on my shopping list, but got to cross it off after I found a Parkhurst (my go to brand) at Winners last week!

Lovely collection! I really like the sweater - the open knit is lovely.

I think the velvet pants will be great for winter events - restaurants, galleries, concerts or entertaining at home. And a nice modern style with longevity too.

I recently posted my success in finding a good basic but great-for-me burgundy tee (from Frame, in Finds below), but also ran across a good sweater as well. The first Find is a openwork knit from Kut that works well for me. It's a bit cropped and has an easy fit (I sized down slightly to a S instead of a M because it was roomy enough in the body and long enough in the arms but had a slightly shorter length that appealed to me). It's quite open and airy, but I like that these days -- heavy sweaters get very little wear in my world any more. It layers nicely over a tank or a short or long-sleeved tee.

I also got the plaid Rails shirt pictured here -- fits right in with Angie's berry tones blog post! I have a couple of plaid shirts but the newest is about ten years old. They still have life in them, but this is a nice update in a color scheme I will enjoy.

Finally, I happened upon these Paige velvet pants and tried them on. I'm pretty sure they are keepers. They're a little on the high-waisted side on me, but they are comfortable and fit great in a size 8. They are super soft and a dark ink blue. Not a stiff velvet fabric but more like a soft drapey velour. There is a matching blazer available too, but I'd already just about maxed out what I want to spend on clothes this season and I'd like to find a top or sweater in forest green. I'm hoping these pants will work with the jackets I already own. I think I can also even dress them down with, say, a sweater or tee and a denim jacket and fashion sneakers.
