Well, we shall see how it looks. I think the yellowish bits are shadows, Biscuit, although it does have funky bone-colored buttons and a little buckle detail on the pockets that I will probably remove or replace.

I love linen too. If you don't mind the creases I think it's worth a try.

I 'like' it, maybe its my monitor, but is there yellow(ish) coloring around the pockets? I know buying on eBay can be a pain the a**, but I wish you luck! Have you looked at any knitwear to use as a topper? Honestly, I avoid linen as much as possble, cuz the wrinkling drives me nuts

I have a linen blazer about this length and it hardly wrinkles because it is not too long that I sit on it, and is heavy enough weight to hold wrinkles at bay. It is very similar in style to the one you show also, I had to check twice to make sure it wasn't exactly the same!

What's your price range? I just ordered this linen blazer from J. Crew in the white. I had a 20% code that made it $112.

I don't mind wrinkles on linen, so if not expensive-give it a go! (you can ask measurements for bust waist hips, total length and sleeves for not buying blind)
(i gave you some links on your other thread, too:-))

I'm not sure if I could return it, but the price is quite low so I'm not that worried about it. I could probably sell it on to someone else for a similar price.

As for the wrinkling factor, Suz is right -- it's an academic conference, and in a very casual field at that, so being a bit wrinkly is not necessarily a bad thing. I am attracted to the linen because it is a classic hot-climate fabric, and I am anticipating hot weather (at least to me -- I have become very accustomed to my chilly local climate and I get hot easily in any case).

The length could be an issue, and maybe the shape of the lapels. I could probably adjust the side seams a bit if necessary to give it more shape.

CAN you return it, Mander, if needed to?

I don't mind a few wrinkles, myself. And yours is an academic conference, no? Not super formal?

I would pass. Linen wrinkles like nobody's business, and unless you are super familiar with the brand and know how it will fit, you can't return it.

Personally I love the casual wrinkled effect of linen so that wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. The jacket does look a bit short though. Were you able to get accurate measurements from the seller?

I can see what rate means and especially if your conference capsule is a travelling one. I have a very similar jacket and it stays unpressed for ages.

Linen is such a difficult fabric because it wrinkles a lot!
It seems a little boxy also, i would pass

So, this one is on eBay so I can't try it on, but it would be in my price range. It's pure white, 56% linen. I would probably change the buttons and the buckle trim to something a bit more plain.

FYI, my little conference capsule is shaping up to be mostly black and white, and I have been looking out for a white jacket for a while in any case -- it would be useful in my spring/summer wardrobe in general.
