But if you're going to let go of the old one, you might want black as a replacement? Unless you want a change. But then the issue of whether black is more versatile is always a nagging doubt.</p> <p>I'll be in the USA shopping with Mom next week (yay!) and I'm thinking about getting this jacket for casual wear and outdoor activities.&nbsp; It's gear but I like the sleek shape.&nbsp; I have a black lightweight parka type jacket that is supposed to fulfill the same goals but the sleeves are just a bit too short, and despite frequent treatment with waterproofing spray it can only withstand a light shower.</p> <p>The grey has a subtle pattern, I think it's check but the photo is a bit hard to see. The black is just a plain, flat black. </p>
