Good strategy for jeans. Bravo that you fit back into your old pair!!!

You are not alone when it comes to orthotics., Loads of clients insert them and they wear fab shoes. It’s a question of persevering.

Angie, I have about 3 1/2 kilos to go. I always have lost the weight eventually, so I suppose that is what I was waiting for. I usually by myself something as a "reward" when I get there
BUT
I have just tried on the jeans I just referred to - and I CAN do them up! They are tight around the waist though (this tend to be the last place preggy weight is lost from) but at least I could go shopping knowing that my old size (Australian size 10) will fit. The jeans are not suitable though, being rather trendy, with whiskering, a zipped pocket and some printing on them. So I think some dark wash ones are in order -- and maybe some skinnies as you suggested in another post

Re orthotics - yes they are inserts. Of course I don't have to wear them all the time, but I prefer to most of the time. I like shoes with good deep heel support. The ones I wear most of the time were specially made for orthotics. My new boots feel good with them too! Sneakers are good toos. Don't like flats (from that POV - they are lovely to look at of course)

I prefer it vertical, Anne, just like you.

I prefer cheeky cropped cardigans on you best. Like the pink one you showed us while ago.

Jeans are on your list! How long do you intend waiting to lose weight? You look great just as you are.

Orthotics are a way of life. Are they inserts? What are your shoe requirements from that point of view?

I never replied to this one

1. I think like the feeling of the cowl neck done vertically. But DH liked it it over the shoulder. I don't think they had a plain version

2.Re the cropped cardi - I know the colour doesn't work. Do you feel as I do that the style doesn't either?

3. Sometime I will work out how to send you the mobile photo of the vest!

4. I do have one more pair of jeans that I bought just before I got pregnant that I can't yet fit into. If they aren't the right length I will buy some more when I get back to my normal weight. Shoes are a bit harder because I wear orthotics most of the time

Thank you for the effort Anne. The cowl is better draped forward don’t you think? Do you feel very horizontal in this style and did they have a plain version?

I agree that the Bordeaux red is not YOUR red. You’ll look better in a brighter red.

The vest with vertical buttons belted at the waist in the link that you showed would have looked great on you. Better for your body type. The purple vest is hugging the widest part of your body at the moment. The other vest would have made your waist the focal point.

Anne my dear, you need new jeans! These are TOO short and the others are too wide. You have a WONDERFUL body and your jeans are not doing it justice. I’d love to see you in a boot cut sported at the perfect length and matched with a more refined shoe. Do you think that you can get new jeans?

Hi Angie,
I shopped in my town a few weeks ago (bought black turtle neck and cardi) in the city about a month ago (bought 2 black tops and many socks!) have bought 2 tops in town since baby was born.

Here are the photos

cowl neck worn differently http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....0_5459.jpg
(note) worn with prepreg jeans (bulge in waist possibly showing)
With self belt
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....56-web.jpg
My attempt ( with materials on hand) to try out your suggestion for the purple vest
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....0_5466.jpg

Another cropped cardi I am thinking of giving away as the colour doesn't suit me. I think the style is too clunky too. Do you agree (for future ref)?
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....60-web.jpg

Angie, I think it is more a case of finding something that wasn't black, grey or muted. I do like clear colours.
I am afraid I don't think I own a button down shirt - Never could find one that fitted or flattered! Any other suggestions?

BTW I tried on this one that you suggested, Angie
http://www.justjeans.com.au/JU.....Id=1142985
but didn't get it because
1. They only had it in that colour
2. It was a bit pricy
3. No belts in the shop to try out the belted look!

I took a photo on my mobile in the changeroom so when I work out how to get them off there I will post it!

Will work on a different neck (as per your instructions) photo tonight (while you guys are asleep I have one with the self belt to post as well

Yes, not really into low slung belts! Definately prefer less fussy.

Somebody likes jewel tones :-)

Fuchsia cardi is great! FAB colour for you. Try it over a button down shirt.

The purple vest DOES have funky potential and another great colour. But it’s a little long just like that. Needs a low slung belt, skinny jeans and heels, which I don’t think is the look you are after, right? You’d prefer an outfit that is less fussy.

I’d like to see the striped cowl worn differently. Wear the cowl draped in front so that the eye is drawn a little more up and down instead of horizontally. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks Maya - I wasn't sure about that turtlenec with the vest either - I have worn it once with a plain round neck white top which looked a bit better

I think the first one looks soo cute and cozy. I have one like that in coral. Love the fluffy cowl neck.

The cropped cardi is a cute color and fits well. I definitely prefer it not buttoned all the way. Looks stiff that way. A cami or a less restrictive top would work better, but I know you said you're not planning to wear that top anyway.

The vest seems to have great funky potential, but again I'm not digging the turtleneck underneath. I'm not exactly sure what the best way to wear it would be. I envision a belt but I know you don't like belts. I'm also picturing it with leggings, but I don't know what to actually layer underneath it. Maybe the other gals will have some input.

Well I finally got to the city last Friday and spent a happy few hours. being a Friday morning, the shops were deserted until the lunchtime crowd, and being a Friday the lunchtime crowd had lots of people wearing "casual friday" clothes so it was a good chance to see what people were wearing (over 3 years since I stopped working in the CBD). Skinnies tucked into boots are a big look downunder!
Anyway, I ended up with 3 new jumpers
here they are
1)http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm234/anneinoz/jumpers/100_5436.jpg
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....0_5437.jpg

and here it is in the shop
http://shop.valleygirl.com.au/.....;Itemid=32
(not sure the best way to wear the neckline) I haven't worn the belt - I feel self conscious in self belted looks)

2) a purple long vest
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....34-web.jpg

3) a cropped cardi - have put in 2 pictures of this, with button variations ( and yes, I know the top underneath is not long enough!)
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....0_5441.jpg
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....0_5440.jpg

I think this will be it for knit purchases this winter - I have spent enough!
