Natalie & Becky - you two are cracking me up! I'm sure neither of you or your children are stinky - lol!

I emailed the seller about washing instructions and she said this one is hand wash cold and hang to air dry. Works for me.

Becky, yeah, we have tons of laundry with the kids--I always wash their clothes after each wear. And I do wash all of my T shirts and pajamas and socks and underwear after each wear too...just so you know I'm not a total slob, haha!

Looking forward to seeing this on you, Shannon!

Natalie, I hang things up to let them air out, too. I hope I'm not known for stinking! With kids around, I hate to add unneeded laundry.

I hope it works for you Shannon!
I can't remember if I've machine washed it, but I think that plan sounds good. I think I've dry cleaned the shirt a few times (mainly because I hate ironing). Kind of embarrassing to admit, but I don't usually wash or dry clean my nice clothes unless they're smelly/sweaty or stained. I have so many clothes that I just hang them up and they're usually nice and aired out by the next time I wear them. Hopefully someone will tell me if I stink!

Oh thank you so much Natalie - I was hoping you would chime in "Crisp and yet soft and ladylike" sounds like the perfect description. So if you're a 4/6 in U.S. and are wearing a European 38...hmmmm...this shirt I'm looking at is a European 44 which corresponds to a U.S. 12. That seems about right. She has also emailed me specific measurements on the shirt and it seems very promising.

Joy - I would machine wash in cold on gentle and hang to dry. Is that what you do Natalie?

I'm glad you both think it could work with my style.

Actually, the Anne Fontaine SA recommended machine washing over dry cleaning! I was surprised!

AAAAHHHH!!!! I would love to be AF blouse twins with you!

I can't tell if that's an exact shirt twin. The sleeves look a little looser and shorter than mine. My shirt has stretchy material on the back and the sleeves, and the front, collar and cuffs are a stiffer material. I'll attach pics below. I am wearing a size 38, I don't know how that corresponds to US sizes but I'm normally a 4 or 6 in shirts. I thought she said it was "French sizing", don't know if that is different from Euro sizing? Angie and others have commented that this shirt looks tight on me, but the SA recommended this size because it's a fitted style. I did take a 40 in the cream short sleeve blouse that is not a stretchy material. I bought this a couple years ago so maybe it's just tighter because of postpartum and nursing issues.

I think this would TOTALLY go with your style! Crisp yet soft and ladylike. Her style is so distinctive--I recognized an AF shirt when another working mom was wearing one. I love Anne Fontaine. Sounds like if the eBay seller offers returns, it's worth a try! Hope it works for you Shannon!

As you know, I've been on the hunt for a white silky, slouchy blouse for fall/winter. But I'm beginning to wonder if this is an elusive beast and more importantly, if it's actually the style direction I'm heading in.

On the weekend, trying on ALL of my fall/winter items (I purge ill fitting, unwanted items at the beginning of each season), I'm not feeling the slouchy love as much as I used to. Although I still love a good menswear-inspired outfit, I'm not wanting as much slouch as before. In fact, I have purged my Sears black and tweed slouchy trousers (WAAAAAAAY too big now as they were big to begin with) and have my Lord & Taylor Wonder Woman transpired slouchy trousers in the holding zone. I seem to be feeling a bit more of a tailored vibe lately - not tight but not slouchy.

So this has led me to think that perhaps I would prefer a bit more of a tailored white shirt than a slouchy one. I wouldn't go so far as to say I want a crisp white shirt, but almost something in between, if that's possible.

Since I have put myself on a strict shopping budget, I have been scouring eBay and have found a lovely Anne Fontaine shirt at a very reasonable price. In fact, this might be the one that Natalie has with the double collar and double cuffs.

I checked the conversion chart so know that the European size listed corresponds with my U.S. size but am just wondering if Anne Fontaine shirts run TTS? Here's a pic of the shirt BTW. The seller does offer inexpensive shipping and full returns so there's not really any risk involved.

Also, do you think this type of shirt could work with my style?
