Totally off topic: I walked past the Anne Fontaine shop in Antwerp yesterday and there was a 'help wanted' sign in the shop-window. I'm not looking for a job but couldn't help thinking 'just imagine the employee discount... and I'd probably get to wear a different AF blouse every day....' Quite tempting;-)

Wow Ana! I love the black blouse you bought, and the white “vampire princess” one you tired on is my absolute favorite. My list of favorites are #2, 6, 8, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, 40, 44, and 45. OK, so I love a lot of them. I just looked at the accessorized as well and love the necklace #30 and belt 37. Unfortunately, all are miles out of my price range, and the nearest stores are in Illinois and Texas. Le sigh. Perhaps I'll save up for one and hope for a trip to Texas.

Inge, I love AF! Ever since I went in there and tried some of the stuff on, I've been hooked. Her things are expensive, more money than I spend on anything else, but everytime I put something on of hers I just feel magical.

When I go and try on the black blouse I will definitely take a picture and post it here!

WOW Ana, that was actually my personal favourite! And you look gorgeous in it! I think you should go back and try the black one on as well, not just because you'd make a fierce vampire princess but because I really need to see how that looks as well;-)))

Oh about the anti black thing: the upper part of the blouse is sheer and that can make a difference in my experience.

Ha ha! So I WAS right--Polo Dominatrix! Dang...I wish it weren't so hot here, I would snap that outfit up in a second. I love the buckles on the sweater, and red skinnies? I'm there!

The AF blouse is awesome. The solid white part is made of a soft stretchy cotton, and then the poufy bits are organza (I think), but it's not itchy AT ALL (like I expected it to be). I am definitely trying the black on.

That was one of my fav AF blouses. AMAZING!

The RL display is about the horse sport Polo. It’s to tie up RL’s “polo” brand. Horses like apples and win cups and rosettes at competitions. I think the outfit on the mannequin is super.

The blouse is really cute! I might have to go back and try on the black one. For some reason, even though I'm sort of "anti black clothes" I really like AF stuff in that color over white. I think it makes it less "precious." Does this make sense? I sort of like feeling like a vampire princess sometimes, you know? I was also considering duplicating my black ruffle blouse I already have in white to wear with cardigans and stuff. I don't know that I could do both though as there are other things that I really need more (like dresses and summer tops).

I wish I had taken a full on photo of the whole Ralph Lauren display, I really don't understand it myself. Its like, a guy in a construction outfit, and then there's the bowl of apples, and then the mannequin with all the whips, lol. I do really like the actual outfit though. I think it's the bright red skinnies with the sweater (I love sweaters with interesting necklines).

I stopped in at Anne Fontaine today just for fun to try on one of the blouses I was eyeballing in their catalog. It's cute, I think the black would be better on me because of the puff sleeves. I sort of feel like a vampire princess in this (I think it's the standing poufy collar, lol):

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0221-1.jpg

Also, check out this mannequin in the window display of Ralph Lauren. I love this outfit every time I walk by it. I think wearing it would make me feel like a Polo Dominatrix:

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0220-1.jpg

They are actually not available in stores. But if you go into a store and order it on the red phone, shipping will be free, and you can return it to any J. Crew store if it doesn't work out. I think the light citron color is great! I have my eye on that as well. The bright papaya and the light citron won't be available until June 16th. I have the white and sapphire on order and am waiting patiently.

Thanks for the update on the fall trends! I can't believe they're already talking about it, especially since my fall won't start until November! That seems ages away.

Thanks Ana! I'll probably go the store to try any color in XS and if it works I'll order the citron.
Btw, I just received my June issue of Harper's Baazar and they (already!) have the fall 2008 trends and such. One of the biggest one is a ruffled blouse! So you're in front of the fashion trends and should continue to wear your gorgeous new blouse in fall and winter.

I've had this problem with cardigans from J. Crew as well. This one is more fitted though, which is why I like it so much. I wear a medium, so you would probably want to go with the XS. Your waist might also go in further than mine, so it may be a little baggier than it is on me, but I shouldn't think too much more. It also looks really good belted.

You already have this cardigan in different color(s), right Ana? What's the fit around the waist like? Whenever I tried to buy a cardigan from J Crew in the past it was always way too baggy around my waist even tough it fit fine on the shoulders & chest

Oh thanks everyone! One of the things I really love about the blouse is that I think it looks better with my hair up as well, which a lot of my outfits don't. But I end up wearing my hair pulled back most of the time, so it's like an extra plus!

I love the suggestion of coral! Teal would be beautiful as well. I have my eye on this cardigan in poppy, which I think might look nice with it:

4 is the one I bought, but I got it in black. I love the white one as well. I wish I had someplace to wear 22, it is really interesting. I LOVE 26. I didn't try it on, because I was already getting 4, but I would really like to, just to see what it's like. It's really soft stretchy pima cotton, and then the puffs are silk organdy. Honestly, I don't think the puff sleeves would work with my shoulders, but it would be fun just to see what it's like on. I did try on a couple of other shirts, though--all of them were really nicely made and felt really good on. The double collar on 9 is interesting.

Suuuper! A wonderful piece. I also love it best with the jeans, although the red pencil skirt is a very close second. Definitely a statement!

With the jeans, I'd pair it with silver or other metallic shoes. If I owned it (ooh, that would be nice) I'd wear my silver flats with a cutout floral pattern, or maybe my new kelly green patent leather flats.

Oh, and I love your hair up with it, as it exposes the fab collar more.

LOVELY!!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, everyone! I do have a couple of blue cardigans, but they are both cobalt blue (which I think is close to royal). I do like emerald green, though, and it is a good color on me, you're right Nicole! Maybe that short sleeve cardigan in the sea jade color at Ann Taylor right now, and a black patent belt. That might be sharp.

I like Angie's suggestion for the cream shoes and a zebra clutch. Adds some edginess to a ruffly girly piece, which I like. I'm not sure if I'll do this, but I may try it with white skinny jeans when I get a pair. The top might be too short though if the jeans are "low rise," so I won't know until I get my hands on some.

FABULOUS! That blouse can go straight into my wardrobe. I absolutely LOVE it and you look wonderful in it, Ana. I echo Tanya. I like the blouse paired with all three bottoms for different reasons. I’d personally wear it with my jeans, cream shoes and zebra clutch. I’d have to somehow throw in my pearls. Perhaps one of my chunky pearl rings. And a refined pair of black cats eye specs. Delicious!

As for the cardi, Nicole makes super suggestions.

My favorite pairing was the denim. Something about the juxtaposition of something casual next to something dressy speaks to me.

One of my favorite unexpected colors to pair with black is bright blue. Something between royal and baby blue. I would also go with any jewel color for fall/winter (emerald would look smashing with your coloring), Winter White, and even the right shade of bright pink. I love black and IMO, just about everything goes with it.

OMG Ana that shirt is gorgeous and it looks stunning on you! I honestly like it with all the three bottoms, for different occasions.
For fall for cardi with that shirt I'd typically go for colors such as charcoal, silver-grey, eggplant and cream. But these might be a bit too cool for you, you prefer warmer ones right? Maybe a milk chocolate brown ( I'd trow in leopard print ballet flats, or belt or scarf), military green or brick red?
