It was a difficult decision, but a few things made me hold off.</p> <p>1. I have similar wing-tips in brown nubuck, and I'm not crazy about how they've aged. I have very low volume feet and they look sort of collapsed and flattened out on top. I think lace-up shoes may not be my best bet.&nbsp; </p> <p>2. What Dashielle said. I'd love to be able to wear my silver shoes with a skirt, and given my experience with my other oxfords I probably would not.</p> <p>3. The picture below. Even DH liked these JCrew silver loafers much better. I think their shape would hold up. Where I live in Maine, we are so close to the coast and so far south that we often don't get snow until January, so it can be cold but dry through the end of the year. In that case, I would wear oxfords (or booties) with socks through Christmas. </p> <p>Rabbit was really making me think about the silver shoes with cold-weather colors.
