Will do, Suz!

Angie, I tend to be a hopeless sock-wearer, but stepped out finally with sheer knee-highs with my oxfords, and I had the idea that with this warmer fabric, if full-length, I might dare continue that into chilly (not sub-freezing) weather.

Will make a date to closet-shop for some stylings and see if they pass muster. It is weird--these are longer than other items AT calls "ankle pants".

If they are indeed full length on you - although I never thought of you as petite so are you sure about that - they look best with a sleek ankle bootie to my eye.

That said, I also like your idea of flat oxfords and slipper flats sans socks - but knee-highs are great.

I am trying these "ankle pants" from AT--these are stock photos so I will try to post some stylings when I get some time off.

They look short on the model, but on me they are full-length with some scrunch, which is why I even considered. I don't think they are considered "curvy" but they seem to "get me" more than most tapered pants. Plus they are a brown & black tweed wool blend, for cold weather and work-wear type fabric.

For my proportions I will need to wear longer/volume-type tops with this type of a pant--not tunics, but log-hip and fluid or boxy. I have to give it the critical eye, though, because I do have pear-shaped/ hippy issues, which is why I have very few of this style of pant.

My idea is that this type pant really is more of the intended vibe with oxfords and slipper flats than are trouser pants, so I want to do more of that as one type of silhouette, while another is wearing my straight and wider leg pants with ankle boots. The fabrication gives me some good options with fall and winter-weather tops.

For me, this would feel like moving forward, with more of this silhouette + the footwear, compared to adding even more classic trousers (though I did that too!), especially since I never did skinny jeans. But, since fits are more fluid, and the footwear has been around for awhile already, would I be already falling behind the curve? Am I wearing my tweed goggles again? Do I care?
