I'm with Rabbit: I like the fit and length on you, and though I'm not crazy about Maryjanes on grown-ups, I think your shoes look better than the nude heels on the model. Maybe a little Capezio-type flat, to reinforce the retro look?

Thanks KL!
I'll see what I can do about the shoes.
The pants are in my "Find" above--they are the Tech Stretch Skinny Ankle fit in Julie fit.

I have a hard time judging pant lengths, so I won't comment on that. I think the pants look great on you, but I'm with Olivegreen on your shoes. Is there another comfy flat you can wear, like a loafer or sandal? The shoe thing is very minor, though. Great job!

Also, which pants are those from the Loft?

Thanks Angie! I knew you'd chime in. I hope you are resting your arms/wrists though.

I need more guidance about how much to shorten these pants--how many inches? Until what point on my leg? My intention is to use them for business casual meetings.

For comparison, here are white cropped AT pants (which seem dressier) and those Athleta pants that a few of us got this summer. My sense is that the shorter length, almost to my knee, might be more flattering since I get a lot of leg lengthening, but they will be a little bit dressier and more practical if I can shorten them just a bit (I also tend to run cold). Thoughts, anyone?

Length needs to be quite a bit shorter, gardenchick. The fit is great though. Nice one. (See example #2 on the post).

Thanks guys.
I agree that loafers could be cute if I could find a pair with enough arch support.
Yup, these are versatile pants that will work with a lot.

Length is good, shape is good, and as you say, shoes a bit bottom heavy. I can walk miles in well made traditional loafers, moccs, or lightweight strappy technical sandals, maybe something like that?
If drapey tops, very minimal shoes seem to look current. Deb has this down, and the blog is great.
If wovens, the trad vibe in unexpected colours looks good, Angie exemplifies this.
Good, versatile pants.

As I mentioned earlier, here are some photos with a couple of different tops and shoes of the Ann Taylor Loft pants pictured in Angie's second photo. I found them to be fairly slimming. I'm interested in your thoughts about how to style them.

As far as shoes, I have fussy feet and just don't wear heels..my shoes are all walking shoes. The shoes pictured are the kind of shoes I will be wearing--it may be that the less chunky ones work better.

In terms of the length, I could get them shortened if they look too long...but if you think so, please be specific about how much to shorten!

I know some of the photos are with drapey tops. I'm looking out for more of those tops but tops are always my challenge.

Thanks for looking!
