Max<br /> Arborland Mall: mostly shoes, although Marshall's has clothing as well</p> <p>I've gotten great stuff at the Salvation Army and the 9-12 AM Kiwani's rummage sale as well - most of my day dresses are secondhand actually, and they're much nicer than anything I've been able to find new for some reason.</p> <p>Everything above you can look up at maps.google.com.</p> <p>If you're in Ann Arbor this week, you MUST, M-U-S-T spare a few hours for the downtown art fairs, which have been rated as among the best in the country and are pretty much the highlight of the year if you discount the football games (which, uh, I do - no offense football fans). Lots of artisan jewelry, and actually many clothing boutiques have stands for the fair as well.</p> <p>Good places to eat: if you need a sandwich a bit cheaper than at Zingerman's (which I'm told is well worth it, but hey, I'm a graduate student :), Potbelly's and Jimmy John's are nice local chains, and there are decent burger joints everywhere. For sitdown dinners, Totoro Sushi and Real Seafood (not just seafood) are great, but you might want to wait for another trip because they're downtown and the art fairs are going to fill them up. I used to lived in Ann Arbor, but any knowledge of this place has been completely useless until now. Thank you for making me feel useful! Briarwood Mall (local and only one) is decent, you can find most of your basic shopping places there (Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, J.Crew, Coach, Forever 21, etc.) </p> <p>If you're looking for consignment places there's a PTA Thrift Store next to a huge Barnes &#38; Nobles, and the only other one is Salvation Army.
