Those are cute and the pic is cute... I've only tried that look once and felt it looked wrong on me. Maybe I just felt too old for the look somehow, in my mid 50s. I wear booties all the time, but with socks. My feet would get cold.

I live in an area where knee high booties and booties are worn year round, in summer with bare skin showing. I would wear those booties with skin colored knee highs while it is cold, even layered if needed. I also wear nude stockings under crops sometimes for warmth. You could easily wear these booties all year.

Cute look. I think it’s an individual choice whether to have skin showing, and at what temperature.

I WANT to wear my booties with some skin showing.....lots of the 20 and 30 something women around me are. I notice the cold and in my classroom, so might be ok, but the temps vary so much that I will wear socks for a while longer. If I am chilled I find it distracting. My students deserve all of my attention. There are plenty of distractions. Cold ankles isn’t going to be one of them.

I live in Pennsylvania and it's chilly here in the spring too. I wear my booties and jeans exactly as you have shown . For the most part I'm ok, I actually wore this out on a date night last night and my ankles warm enough. If I was outside for long though I would have wanted my tall boots.
I really like your booties by the way!

On reflection - and reading all the above comments - I fall in with the crowd and endorse funky socks as even better.

Really cute boots! I vote showing off funky socks, as SUZ advised. I’d be uncomfortably cold with exposed ankles until at least 60 degrees F.

Or wear them with your jeans uncuffed until the temps warm up.

It's a fun look but seasonally confused for where I live (north of you in Canada). That said, all the 20-somethings wear it, regardless. But they are not out in the cold for long, I think. Just from their residence to the dining hall on campus.

Sheer nude hose work in spring temps (not true winter) and you can also cuff your jeans just at the top of the booties and go without skin showing -- or show off funky socks!

You could always wear sheer knee-highs, with short socks over them for some extra warmth.

I agree with you. If it’s cold enough for boots, I need socks.

I just ordered a pair of gray ankle booties. They are cute and I’m hoping they will provide me with some warmth while going into the spring season. Spring is typically very cool here in Connecticut, and most people seem to go from boots to flip-flops over night!
So now that I got these booties, I have been seeing the style of rolled up jeans and some ankle skin showing. Is this how they are supposed to be warn? Wondering if that little sliver of skin is something to be concerned about on a day when temps are in the upper 30’s. Thoughts?
