*happy dance*

That denim skirt is a top pick for good reason. I bet you look great in it, Column.

I woud NOT risk washing those gorgeous trousers yourself.

Super choices and wise to stay focused during NAS. It's very easy to get off track while shopping the sale.

That's great news, Column. I was wondering with the fading if the skirt would be sleek enough for work, but if you are right then I can definitely see wearing it in work situations, because my work is often quite casual; I just need to be polished enough.

Thanks ladies for posting pics, as well as helping me correct the skirt make (it is Hinge--I corrected my original post).

Viva: In addition to dressing down, I'll bet you'll enjoy the skirt just as well with business toppers and shoes, if your workplace allows you to get away with it. The skirt is that polished/streamlined.

Great report! Here are the other Finds (I think...)

I like that Hinge skirt, too, but I have a denim skirt that I rarely wear. I do hope to try it, however, with my new gillet!

Ecco shoes are great for my feet as well.

With the pants, it's hard to say. Is it real or faux leather trim? That might govern my own decision.

I like your philosophy of purchasing. I think that's right. There is far less guilt involved if you are mindful about what you're buying and know exactly how you will use it, and then do use it precisely as planned (often for many years). Yet it takes considerable self-knowledge to get to the place where we are making such wise decisions. YLF speeds that process.

Yes, inspirational. And, interestingly, I've been wondering what my "new denim" will be this season. With this review, I'm going to try the Hinge skirt. Maybe that's the shape that will be new for me this year -- and push me a little more to "dress" when not traveling. Thank you!

Hi everyone:

Posting this in case it helps. I'm in the "filling holes" leg of my style journey--and highly practical holes, at that. I've been buying for a fantasy life and need to move to Team Wear. Sorry this is so brief, but I managed to write a lengthy post and delete it while navigating away to check on an item (insert nails on chalkboard here). Here's what I bought and recommend highly; I believe all are Angie's Top Picks:

1) Hinge denim skirt. Oh. My. Goodness. Uber-flattering. Sits at my waist in a small (5'4", 122 lbs). Will dress up and down; expect to be workhorse.

2) Ecco booties in gray. CRAZY comfortable for my medium volume, almost-wide feet. Adding gray for low contrast with white and blue denim; rounding out a luggage tan and black bootie capsule. Plan to wear with gray opaque tights in winter with Hinge skirt.

3) Classiques E. leather trim black pants: bought for DD. She is exactly one size larger than I with same fit, so I bought these for her with some degree of confidence. The uber-flattering fit potential is very promising. Question for forum: These say "dry clean," with a poly-blend synthetic fabric that feels like scuba or neoprene, but would you risk washing? The leather trim is super, super tiny.

I must say, I felt guilty watching all the bewildered faces wander the floor aimlessly while I went straight to my utility finds in every size bc no one paid attention to the humble workhorses. Enjoying fasion while living as a responsible consumer means NOT wasting by intentionally purchasing what you need, yes? That is what YLF is allowing me to do!
