This is so pretty on you, Unfrumped. I really like 1/2 and you should try Suz's suggestion - she has given me some good ones

I'm curious as to what the skirt looks like with *color* like navy or teal or plum. Have you tried putting various colors next to it even if the fabrication and style is wrong?

What ever date it is, it works right now! I love the fullness and the length. The neutrals are fabulous, and I like all the ways you've styled it. It has a nice waistband too, so tucking is a good option. A silk Theory skirt for $12??? You struck gold!

Thanks, Thistle!

Suz, that is a great suggestion-- I've admired some really great looks like that on the fabbers' posts--possibly including you! I have a button down silk shirt in taupe I thought might work, but somehow I didn't like it, May try again. A cotton blend button down also gives that juxtaposition that makes it not too sweet or dressy, which is good. It is easier for me to wear those with skirts, actually, because the waistbands (especially with belt) are more at my waist and the tucking stays nicer. With a belt, the color match isn't as critical, either (shades of white and off-white or the other neutrals.)

Love it with the dressy sweatshirt -- great look!

I think it could work with a tucked and belted button down better than with the tee. A collared shirt, with some crispness.

Sorry not participating much of late due to schedule.

I bought this silk Theory skirt for $12 in early spring at consignment store as a planned near-orphan, meaning I had to acquire some the parts before it could be adopted into an outfit. It is a good style for me with a waist that fits, stitched down pleats at top, the fabric is flowy but not too stiff or full, and I love the array of neutrals.

i did have the cotton T shown and the pumps, but hoped to get a banded-bottom top and needed suitable flats for hours-wearability. Several months later I found the French Connection top here I've shown before, and then recently the flats. Meanwhile I fretted that it might stay an orphan.

White and ivory tops are not typically my best colors, but one or two in versatile styles are useful, and this one is easy to toss on with most any bottoms-skirts, pants, jeans. The T has seen its days of wear but still holding up, but I think a T-type look works to dress it down a bit, and so replacements in different colors ought not to be too difficult or expensive to keep the skirt in play, as the banded-bottom look trend fades out (before returning again!).

1--skirt with "dressy" sweatshirt + AGL flats
2-with pumps--and in case I dresss it up more
3) BR brown T worn untucked as very dressed-down.
4 tucked and belted

There are other tops and lengths that work as well.
Also shown is Tignanello oyster-pearl shoulder bag. I haven't "cut tags" but I really like it as a neutral that is my version of white--lightens up my dark neutrals as well as brighter colors--and I think I am likely to actually use it throughout the week instead of keeping on the shelf.

What do you think? Can you "date" this skirt to Theory year ----, or is it a pretty good basic?
