I have a button down silk shirt in taupe I thought might work, but&nbsp;somehow I didn't like&nbsp;it, May try again. &nbsp;A cotton blend button down also gives that juxtaposition that makes it not too sweet or dressy, which is good. It is easier for me to wear those with skirts, actually, because the waistbands (especially with belt) are more at my waist and the tucking stays nicer. It is a good style for me with a waist that fits, stitched down pleats at top, the fabric is flowy but not too stiff or full, and I love the array of neutrals.</p> <p>i did have the cotton T shown and the pumps, but hoped to get a banded-bottom top and needed suitable flats for hours-wearability. Several months later I found the French Connection top here&nbsp; I've shown before, and then recently the flats. Meanwhile I fretted that it might&nbsp;stay an orphan.</p> <p>&nbsp;White and ivory tops are not&nbsp;typically my best colors,&nbsp;but one or two in versatile styles are&nbsp; useful, and this one is easy to toss on with most any bottoms-skirts, pants, jeans. The T has seen its days of wear but still holding up, but I think a T-type look works to dress it down a bit, and so replacements in different colors ought not to be&nbsp;too difficult or expensive&nbsp;to keep the skirt in play, as the banded-bottom look trend fades out (before returning again!).</p> <p>1--skirt with "dressy" sweatshirt + AGL flats<br />2-with pumps--and in case I dresss it up more<br />3) BR brown T worn&nbsp;untucked as very dressed-down. <br />4 tucked and belted</p> <p>There are other tops and lengths that work as well.<br />Also shown is Tignanello oyster-pearl shoulder bag.&nbsp;I haven't "cut tags" but I really like it as a neutral&nbsp;that&nbsp;is my&nbsp;version of white--lightens up my dark neutrals as well as brighter colors--and&nbsp;I think I am &nbsp;likely to actually use it throughout the week instead of keeping on the shelf.</p> <p>What do you think? Can you "date" this skirt&nbsp;to Theory year ----, or is it a pretty good&nbsp;basic?&nbsp; </p>
