Unfortunately she also broke my MIL's leg and disclocated 4 of her toes (I can't even yell at her for being out in a snowstorm clearing snow in SNEAKERS at AGE 84 instead of waiting for my husband to get down the hill ... because ... she didn't want to be LATE FOR WORK at the children's after school program! I can only aspire to her toughness). Daily visits to her and clearing the never-ending fluffy white blessings for drought-stricken California have kept me off the forum but I love this challenge and can't wait to see everyone's authentic style. (Cue the Who "Can You See the Real Me") in background.</p> <p>#1-3 Last night we drove down to take MIL out to dinner (she is doing great - the "best" kind of broken leg!) and get her settled and comfy ahead of yet another major multi-foot snow storm at our elevation. I went for the style version of comfort food. </p> <p>My moniker and descriptors are&nbsp;"Creative Mountain Modern" -&nbsp;Casual,&nbsp;Fun,&nbsp;Detailed,&nbsp;Sleek,&nbsp;Eclectic. I've had this sweater for probably 15 years. Bootcuts are a given - I just released the hem on these Levis as they were a tad too short for even flats. The boots have a lovely lace detail that makes me happy even when it doesn't show. &nbsp;Snowflake earrings pick up the ski sweater detail. My navy mini puffy and Tumi bag brought my go-to color to the palette.&nbsp;</p> <p>#4 Today - Keeping It Real - got a quick 15K xc ski in ahead of the storm (sort of). My trusty Smart Wool jacket and new Kuhl pants. Truly me. I was nearly blown over multiple times, old snow had blown in over the freshly groomed tracks, my ski patrol friend just laughed when I asked what was good, and said "That which does not kill you makes you stronger". But I found a great tail wind, and sought the shelter of the treed trails for most of the head wind sections. Home safe and planning a hearty butternut squash soup. Power is flickering on and off, the snow is piling up, and I'm crossing my fingers we don't lose any windows this year (#5). We cover the entire bottom story with Lexan, but only half way up our sliders might not be enough.</p> <p>#6 This is from a few storms ago. Snow no longer sheds from the largest portion of our metal roof - it is backed up to one story high on that side. Even more snow now. like I said - FABruary. Even I'm ready for some sun.</p> </p>
