Thanks Angie, I will try that.
Marley, I thought "scarcer than a hens' teeth" was a common colloquialism. You inspired me to look it up; apparently it's American Colonial. I'm an Army brat and grew up all over the country (and world), so have a bunch of weird sayings like that.

Love the brogues with the floral pants - and overall I think this silhouette is really flattering on you! But, " . . . scarcer than hen's teeth . . . ?" Ha ha hahaha! I love it! That has got to be a southern expression, right? Very funny!

I'm sorry I missed this. Better late than never, I hope.

Another who likes the brogues with the jeans - texture rich and interesting. Super layering in #2 too. Well done.

If you wear a soft scarf that collapses back onto the body with the loop hung low around the neck - you'll elongate the neckline and prevent boob-interference if that makes sense. I have a client who is your body double and that's how we solved her scarf challenge. She also wears chunky scarves without tying them at all - like you are here.

MG, lol on so many things in your reply! Crotchular...that must be the anthropology term, right? I too have a short neck & genetic double chin (no jowls yet but I'm sure they're in my future), and I find as long as I don't loop it tightly, it works. Sort of 2 loose wraps a bit lower on the chest, around the collarbone area. That being said, I don't have enormous boobs, so I don't know how that affects things. For what it's worth, I don't think that letting it hang vertically draws much attention to your bits. Just that the scarf plus open shirt plus open jacket was a lot of vertical lines & it might be interesting to see a rounder line as contrast. But I love it just the way you wore it too!

P.S.: I just looked at the pics again & I see no double chin/jowl in evidence! Which is impressive as mine loves to ambush me in photos.

Thank you all!

Bethanne, I have been on the lookout for a dark chambray shirt FOREVER. I'm being picky, because I want one without breast pockets, and they are scarcer than hens teeth!

Shevia and E, I have been reluctant to loop scarves around my neck, because I have a short neck, a double chin and jowls, and enormous boobs. But somebody else suggested in a previous post with a long scarf that the ends of the scarf were drawing attention to the crotchular area, so next time I wear a scarf I will try some looping. Now that I have several silk scarves instead of the bulkier cotton ones I've had for so long, I'll do some experimenting.

You look great! Those trousers are so fun. I agree with Shevia that it'd be neat to see the scarf up around your neck, infinity/cowl style.

Love your take on Angie's formula! The color in the tee is one of your best, I think. With your love of boho, I hope you have both light and dark denim/chambray shirts!

You had me with the brogues! You look very good and the only thing I would play with is the scarf - I sort of want to see it wrapped around your neck. But keep in mind I am terrible with scarves!

It got up in the 60's today, so I wanted to wear my neglected navy floral pants (which frustratingly photograph as black) and equally neglected black brogues. I paired them with a navy LS v neck T shirt, and over that a faded chambray shirt. Simple hoop earring and a long lapiz heart necklace completed the look. I looked in the mirror and thought, "Didn't Angie have an outfit based around layering a chambray shirt over a T??" I looked up the post, and then threw on my ancient black leather jacket and a silk scarf as suggested. This isn't exactly what Angie prescribed since my jeans are not black and my leather jacket isn't cropped, but it gets all the layers in. I quite liked this and felt both comfortable and reasonably stylish all day.

Thanks for looking and suggestions always welcome.
