				<description>&#060;p&#062;Yay for you, Jules! That's a triumph, alright.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm going to cite the same rule as you, the Triple P, and one other piece of advice distilled from Angie's own style. But first the picky patient perseverance, with a side of flexibility ('never say never' as Angie would say)---I had just about given up on maternity jeans that made for stylistic sense as well as comfort for me... until yesterday. I knew I did *not* pull-on jeans. I originally thought I wanted an overbump panel but quickly realized they felt too warm and constricting to me. And a jersey band in the back waist especially felt entirely too risque on my bubble butt. I'd almost given up because no alternatives were in sight. Almost made up my mind to live in tights and skirts or tunics/dresses this winter. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Cue the discovery of the *last* pair of side-panel jeans in my size, left over from last season in the ONE outlet that won't accept my store credit---and I still bought it, where another time I'd just have said 'no way' to buying jeans for a six-month life span at full price, and that too last season's merchandise. But hey, it got me trying yet another new style I'd dismissed (boyfriend) *and* turned out to be half-off (though not marked down as sale merchandise yet). Angie's mantras paid off big time there.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;The second bit isn't so much advice as the way Angie tweaks some of her older or heirloom pieces to add modernity to them. The semi-tucks, the layering, the fresh clutch as accessory... This year, her way of focusing on new *ways* of wearing a classic to reflect current trends got me wearing midi skirts with new confidence, trying a button-down shirt again, buying a belt or two, and ::gasp:: tucking over my apple belly in search of currency and style. It stretched my budget by extending the wear of older pieces without me feeling *too* far gone into frumpy territory. Thanks, Angie! &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;And thanks, Jules, for this very thoughtful and thought-provoking thread.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Angie's blogs have encouraged me to take a more playful attitude towards clothing...sparkle in the daytime, lacy sweaters over something, unpredictable belts &#038;amp; (gasp) white jeans in the winter. Not to mention boots &#038;amp; booties which were absent in my wardrobe previously. And, like Rose &#038;amp; Joan, most of the time I'm more particular.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Yay! I am sure you will look wonderful in this, and will get a lot of wear from it. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Angie's advice is so helpful. In my case it is taking a while to seep in, but I try to remember her words each time I shop.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;That is a great find (and a great deal, double yay)! You are going to get so much wear out of it, Jules, and I bet that each time you wear merino navy sweater you'll be happy all over again that you didn't settle and waited for the right one to come along.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;That is actually one of the things that I learnt from Angie as well: I've always been pretty picky and always knew pretty much exactly what I wanted. But before YLF I eventually would get frustrated and run out of patience and in the end buy a version of an item I had been coveting that wasn't exactly right for me, and then of course regret it. Now it still can get a little frustrating when I've been looking for a certain something for quite a while, but I'm not as trigger happy anymore and am quite happy to ignore all the almost perfect ones and patiently wait a little longer until the 100% me version comes along.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;That is a lot of patience and searching!  Congrats to you, so glad you found the perfect sweater.  Hopefully we can see it in action soon!&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;For me, I am still initiating all the wonderful advice. But I am definitely stuck on keeping things well edited, and only introducing what I love and fits well into my wardrobe.

				<title>RoseandJoan on "Angie&#039;s Advice Actioned"</title>
				<link>https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/angies-advice-actioned#post-786731</link>

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Angie, I am today counting my blessings for your wonderful advice which has seeped into my consciousness like water into porous rock, you are a gem for sharing your knowledge so freely.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;About a year ago, after reading Parisian Chic, I set my sights on a v neck navy sweater which fits my climate, style aesthetic and colour palette perfectly BUT I also knew this item would be hard to find on my limited (less than £300 per annum) budget.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Instead of feeling disheartened I knew that I had to use the triple P purchasing principle &#060;a href=&#034;http://youlookfab.com/2012/01/11/the-triple-p-purchasing-principle/&#034; rel=&#034;nofollow&#034;&#062;http://youlookfab.com/2012/01/.....principle/&#060;/a&#062; and leave no retail stone unturned. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Yesterday my patience was rewarded at a Lyle and Scott sample sale where I sourced a mens size small, merino wool, vintage line navy sweater for £25.00.&#060;br /&#062;
&#060;a href=&#034;http://www.lyleandscott.com/merino-v-neck-sweater/jumpers-&#038;#038;-cardigans/eagle/fcp-product/1361&#034; rel=&#034;nofollow&#034;&#062;http://www.lyleandscott.com/me.....oduct/1361&#060;/a&#062;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Yes there is a logo but this brand is important to our local area so I'm more than happy to sport the eagle (besides the gold reflects my new watch perfectly).&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Before YLF I would have:&#060;br /&#062;
a) put the item out of my mind&#060;br /&#062;
b) bought an inferior item&#060;br /&#062;
c) compromised on the colour, the neckline...something.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I am happy to have put Angie's principle in action and would love to know which style advice has changed your perspective recently?
