My skinny cords from J-brand and Diesel hold their shape very well. They both have a bit of stretch.

I like my skinny cords. The only pants that fit right now, lol. Maybe because they only have a very slight stretch and a very thin wale?

Okay. now I'm going to post my skinny cords (from several seasons ago - thrifted dark blue Gap)... Bring on the cord hate!

I'm also wondering - is the wrinkling a function of being too tight or not tight enough?

Fair enough! Maybe my pair are out there . . . but I don't feel these are it. Perhaps it is something that premium cuts/fabrics would make a difference in.

Malina, I am trying NOT to be biased about corduroy trousers.

The fits aren't bad at all! Your figure looks terrific as always! Cords bag out and look awful in a nano second - that's my main problem with them. And the bootcut versions look masculine. Jeans are your friend.

Of course, the decision is yours though.

I really appreciate all the reassurances. Both that I don't look terrible, but also that the pants really aren't the most flattering cut for me yet. So far, I feel that it's all the extra stretchiness that's not doing me any favors. Sure, it makes them comfortable, but it makes them less structured (if pants can be structured and un!)

And Elly, how nice of you to say!! I suppose it's true that most of my WIW are questions posed about troublesome pieces. I think I'm almost past that phase (I hope) and more WIW's from here on out will just be me in my daily duds To be fair, I don't even put on shoes most days right now so there isn't a lot of outfits to share.

I do not think you look in any way large! Your figure looks great, but I think these are nevertheless very snug. I do wonder if you can find a better cut. For full disclosure though, I am biased in general against levi's because I think they always bag out, but maybe that has changed. I haven't owned a pair for 10 years. Hubby does, though, and they bag. Sorry I didn't seen your question on the other thread sooner, but the rise on my J Brands is 8 inches.

The cords make your bum look better imo-- however, I find cords make this sound when I walk if the bag out at all between the thighs-- it is that windsuit of horror sound.

I love the last picture--- very much the outdoorsy, relaxed and naturally beautiful woman I picture when I picture you. Sure, it is super simple and you do have a great sense of style with a bit of edge. You are gorgeous and have a great body and sometimes I think that gets lost in some of your older clothing your are trying to save or debating about keeping. The "youngness" or "dated" factor gets in the way of seeing you!

Mo - keep in mind that I have a major bias against cords, but IMO - you can do better than this! Even though your thighs don't look big in these at all, its just the wrinkly folds that I think are throwing them off! But then, maybe that's what all cord skinnies do, and its just part of wearing cords? I don't know for sure - but, I agree with you - I think you need to do your cord skinnies shopping in person, rather than on-line!

I don't know...maybe I am nuts. The pile of cord legging jeans at my Gap was tiny. Mere weeks ago it was a mountain. Somebody is buying those and thinking they look good. Maybe they DO look good. Maybe my eyes need to adjust!

But truly, I'm not talking about how it looks on you so much as how it felt on me and how I felt it looked on me. Something about the way it wrinkled and the way the wrinkles caught the light just gave me that sense of a woman trying to squeeze herself into too-tight trousers, even though they WEREN'T too tight. So in the end I decided to forego the whole idea.

Hm, definitely no large thighs here, but these aren't as good as, say, your awesome red skinnies. Your figure is great that it definitely can transcend some less-than-ideal pants, but it can look even more awesome. Just my two cents.

Maybe I'm lucky enough to not see my own thunder thighs. I actually looked at these and thought you looked extra-skinny. Honestly. From the two thumbnails of side shots 4 and 5 (bartender reference!), your thighs look SMALLER to me in the dark grey.

Mo, I think you look a LOT better than you believe; you have a terrific figure so really couldn't look bad in anything.

But. Having said that, I totally understand what you are talking about. This is why I returned my Gap Cord Jeggings. They just do that weird wrinkly thing and at least when you are wearing them, give that feeling of Thunder Thighs.

I decided that corduroy was not a good fabric for skinnies, full stop.

See, they're supposedly charcoal grey, but you all see black. Aside from color, though, if you all think they fit okay, I would try the lighter grey they have. Your thighs do not look extra large! It's a different cut and maybe your eye needs to get used to it, but you look better in these than I do in my new skinnies...if you don't think you can wear skinnies then maybe I shouldn't either. At least your backside doesn't look like Spongebob Squarepants.

I am beginning to think that this is not meant to be. The second (oops I mean 4th), anxiously awaited pair came today only to find that a) they were way too dark a grey and b) they had the same big thigh fit. If I didn't already have skinny jeans that I knew looked good on me, these two tries at cords would have me convinced they were not the cut for me! So, unless/until I can try some on in person, there will be no more searching for the coveted skinny grey cords EDIT: I realized this is the 4th pair in the mailing-go-round!

Just so I didn't think I was changing size and completely unaware of it, I put on my first pair of skinnies that I bought last year, figuring I could risk $10 on the new trend lol. Oh, and the BF caught me eagerly awaiting a pizza delivery lol.
