<p>Wow you have picked some amazing boots here. Luckily our weather is warming up because I love the top pink Timberlands - they are unbelievably cute. Like you I prefer them with the higher shaft.</p>
<p>In terms of being very versatile and comfortable, the blush Camper boot - bottom right looks like it would be a winner with any work outfit and also be great for walking. I have had Camper boots before and found them to be hardwearing and comfortable.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Whilst I really liked the Dutti pieces, I think you were wise to return them. I am sure you can pick them up later when you get a job and they may not be right for the work dress code. Good shoes / boots seem like a more necessary purchase.

<p>SarahD8, great question. I know these wouldn’t work in a formal office, but I doubt I’ll end up someplace that has a super formal dress code all the time. If I can wear my Esprit green and black pants, and maybe even the white skinnies, I’d like to wear the boots with them. (Hm, so the refined/slight heel should be pink and the stompier ones should be red, because I can’t see wearing a heel with skinnies, and probably not pink either. Thanks!) </p>
<p>I see the boots as dressing down the blue &amp; red skirt and the blue sweater dress for after hours (&amp; maybe for work, depending). That sweater dress is so comfy! I got some sweater leggings from Uniqlo that I love with it, and that outfit is just crying for flat/very low heeled boots. As much as I loved the Dutti pieces, I returned them. Once I get the rest of my stuff, I might buy the skirt &amp;/or jacket back, but for now, it just seemed I was pushing too hard, trying to force things. </p>
<p>Angie, remember my Florida Fall capsule from last year? I shipped the whole thing over here, and expect to wear a lot of the pieces for work. It had blush pink ankle boots with a stacked heel—a fairly Western look, really. I’d like the new boots to basically take the place of the old ones. And as you said, they have to be really walkable. The good news is that I had no problems walking a mile to &amp; back from the restaurants in our new urban neighborhood in those somewhat stiff boots with nearly a 3” heel, so expect I’d be able to handle more walking in even the highest heels in these finds. I know I can’t read quality from price, but do think these are better brands. The only brand I’m not certain of here is Mustang.

<p>FashIntern, are you thinking of wearing these boots for work, or for casual? If the former, how do these different pairs coordinate with the work capsule you have been building?

<p>
<div>Starting to think about what I actually want. I've been thinking of getting another pair of blush boots to replace the cheapos I had as a test run last year. I should probably think of the two purchases together, and get one slightly more stompy, the other slightly more slick, one with a bit more of a heel than the other. So I waded through tons of pink and red ankle boots online last night. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Starting with <u>inspiration</u>: there is something about each of the shoes in photos that I like, although I don't think any of these are exactly "it". <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>There is something about these ridiculously pointy shoes that appeals to me. What is it, and would I wear boots that had it? Part of it, I know, is that heel. The double buckles also turned out to be a theme in my picks. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The topshop boots with cutout have appealed to me all fall. I recently saw some shoes at Nordstrom.com that they must be copies of, or, more accurately, have seen several pairs of burgundy boots with cut-outs that must all be cousins. I don't think they could actually work in my wardrobe, am trying to figure out the "essence" that could. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>And the Angela Scott shoes. Her shoes are tdf, and way beyond my budget, even at the clearance price of 40%. Some of them are too slick and polished for me, but I think I could handle a pair of these with the<br />
double straps. If only they were boots &amp; not shoes (she has similar boots, but not in red. Or in my budget.)<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Getting more <u>aspirational</u>: boots I'd actually like but can't afford. Of the dozen or so I tossed into finds, my top two are the pink Timberlands with tooled leather, because if I'm going for stompy and a juxtaposition, why not reach for the classic, and we all know I love details like that leather, and the Unisa Edwin, which is almost too polished and has almost too much "stuff", but stops short in both cases. Unfortunately, my wallet won't allow either, much less both.&nbsp; While I'm talking about what the heart wants, I can't leave out these brocade beauties from Nordstroms. Also beyond my budget. Sigh. Y'all help me watch for sales, ok?<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Moving down to the <u>possible</u>, the Tamaris and Mustang finds are reasonable facsimiles of the Unisas, but I don't know if either of them would really be red, not just reddish brown. There are two styles by Earth at the Rack that might work for me. If I got any of these, I'd want to find blush pink ankle boots that are slightly more refined and have that slant heel, like the ones at the end, but with more slant and for less money. (I like these, and they aren't expensive, but velvet in the city in winter? I don't think so <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/2,10/2870876578060?awaid=104504&amp;utm_source=aw&amp;utm_medium=affiliate&amp;utm_campaign=104504|Lyst&amp;awc=2374_1540207922_c025ef970982ec236886ecb3c6fc7822&amp;istCompanyId=a5878f77-5a08-4067-8ebf-aeff72525cae&amp;istItemId=qwlpxwmm&amp;istBid=t">https://www.office.co.uk/view/.....tm_source=</a> )<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Going the other way, here are red options with a little more refinement and a little more of a heel that could work if I the other pair is the less expensive version of the Timberlands. (But I'm not sure if I want TLs with basically no shaft). The Pikolinos in pix 3 &amp; 4 of the original post also belong in this category.&nbsp; <br /></div>

<p>Yay! Thank you both &lt;3</p>
<p>La Ped, it’s funny the different ways we have to learn the same thing. With pants it’s clear to me that different colors can be versatile, so much so that I didn’t understand at first why people said to get black pants instead of green, because they’d be more versatile. But with shoes, it is apparently not so intuitive for me. </p>
<p>So here I go, looking for my red (or blush) footwear!

<p>The plan was to get what I call “school shoes”: good, basic black lace-ups or low cut boots in black, brown, or navy that I can wear pretty much every day, with everything. Those would be first. Then later on I’d get red boots, maybe a better-quality version of the blush pink ones I had last year as a test case, maybe something like the bright red Topshop boots with oversized grommets Angie posted about a while back. </p>
<p>But I just haven’t been into it. The gorgeous Pikolinos I picked out aren’t available in my size, and the rest just make me shrug. Something has been telling me to skip over those sensible quotidian shoes. After all, I do have several pairs of black shoes that fill that bill, each purchased when I traveled North for Christmas &amp; realized I didn’t have appropriate footwear. Took me several years in a Florida until I didn’t have to buy a new pair of shoes ever trip. They are all basic black, very versatile styles that can be worn with skirts or pants. Yawn. </p>
<p>I finally decided to listen to that voice and go ahead with red boots, maybe bright red, or maybe like some of these I saw the other night.</p>
<p>Today I realized that little voice in my hand must’ve been Angie of the Red Boots.
