I'm still experimenting, and I am not good at analyzing why some colors work and others don't. There is a shade of navy that no longer works well for me - it's lighter than ink and darker than denim. Maybe it's because it's not enough contrast? I have been a big fan of fuschia but I'm iffy about that now, too. I was really surprised to see that the pink/white/tan JJill tank (in my profile pic) worked - it's softer and more golden, somehow, than I ever would have tried. Maybe we are summers instead of springs? Beats me. Look forward to seeing more of your photos, as I think I can learn a lot from looking at *you.:)

I love your hair. It is a beautiful colour and cut. I am a big fan of a simple cut and yours works well with your hair.

The white works very well for you, and your hair is a lovely, steely colour. I'm always fascinated by just how many shades of grey there are, and you never know quite how your own grey will turn out.

I went the same route as you, growing the grey in through the blonde, but I think my natural colour was much lighter than yours to begin with, so it was fairly painless for me.

Looking forward to more posts as you experiment with your new colour palette.

I never tire of Going Grey hair posts!
Your hair is looking great, and it will be interesting to see how silver verses gold jewelry works out for your natural colour.

Another inspiring gray post! Looks good with white, the shade of gray is a pretty steely-gray.

Aha! I do wear the LM nude--but not yesterday--just some LF translucent powder. I did look especially pink yesterday. I do have some rosacea.

You've given me something to think about though, Thirkellgirl. It didn't occur to me that my skin would look pinker as it the hair gets lighter. Do you find wearing certain colors tones down the pink more than others?

You look good in white! I have a hard time wearing plain white without some other color up near my face. I hear you about the hair. I'm so glad I didn't start coloring my hair to cover the grey, although I did use some glazes to blend it for a few years. I'm really enjoying my shorter hair even on my swoopy-bangs days. :)

I bet you would look good in the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer color that I wear - I think we have the same coloring. It's "nude," and I find it just evens out the uneven coloring a bit. I often use Bare Minerals in "fairly light" in addition to the LM, or instead. The whiter my hair gets in the front, the more I notice pink in my skin, and not always just in my delightful apple-cheeks. :)

Quick update: Yesterday I had to be somewhere early and even managed to put on some mascara, so I took a couple of photos to show the progress.

It's been 14 month since I last had highlights, and mostly what is left of them is barely discernible in the front. My hair is still darker than I thought it would be and still has natural highlights--graylights?

I rarely wear white or off-white but picked this sweater yesterday because it hides my middle, which has grown this week. Anyway, I wondered how the neutral would turn out with my hair.

I still intend to take photos with wearing different colors as well as gold vs silver jewelry. I just haven't been getting dressed up very much and have been very busy. Many miles to go before I rest, and I always hear Time's winged chariot hurrying near. (Mixing poets the same goof as mixing metaphors?)

One indoor and one outdoor shot. My hair always looks a different color in the mirror as in a photo.

Also, the texture is finer and thinner and less manageable. I need to find a new hairdresser and then I will probably go shorter.

If I had it to over again I'd do what Suz did--just cut it short and be done with the growing out the gray agony.
