It did seem to me that these tracked with Zara, which was encouraging, but I don't really know from Zara, and whether it is just the color or   what may be "modern" changes in how they are worn, so   I might want to try to tweak the outfits somehow, but not sure in what direction, though more the idea of me wearing the culottes and not them wearing me.  Nonchalant, you know, or maybe effortless, instead of, here come the culottes. Saw the rust colors and started seeing what's up in my wardrobe. More dark red than true rust, but is evocative. I know this is not exactly to be an in-or out-concept, but should I give up on these culottes as being past their trend-prime, or wear them again this spring? They are a good way for me to "tuck in" and a great "nearly neutral" color.   .    But, somewhat abashedly,  I feel susceptible to venturing into something a bit trendy here and there and then looking as though I have not moved on, more so with culottes . The style feature that is more enduring for me is "some way to have a higher waisted tucking-in bottom (pants or skirt) rather than culottes per se , so I am not as likely to go looking for another pair of culottes this year.   If continuing, what would keep them updated?  Top colors or styles or footwear or some combination? For footwear I feel a little limited by proportion-flattery and low heels.
