I am well aware of how the CDC defines close contact and being at risk. I am also well aware of the limitations of those guidelines. COVID ran rampant through my last workplace, even though the people who were catching it were not considered to have been exposed.<br /> I don't work in a normal workplace anymore, my office is in the quarters where our clients are living. Even quarrantining means that 4 clients are sharing one bathroom and everyone has a roomate that they're quarrantined with. And while I certainly do not condone your coworker's irresponsibly exposing others to the virus, someone walking past your desk doesn't count as a "close contact", even if they cough. You need to be within 6 feet of that person for 15 minutes or longer in order for you to be considered a close contact and thus at risk for testing positive. In the meantime, though- our program has to stay locked down so that it isn't possibly being spread through the other programs. I went ahead and got tested tonight. I know who it was, and she has been sick all week and walked right by me several times. It's technically a different program than mine, but because there is so much intermixing with the clients, we decided to quarrantine the whole women's program. My clients are not happy...and I keep having to remind them to stay in their rooms, wear their masks, and not to leave the building. I should be working elsewhere, but I have time sensitive documents to complete with some of my clients... </p>
