Even the one I stuck in my essentials list really isn't. I love statement pieces and outerwear lets me indulge this love without guilt. Now I also realize why I absolutely loathe this past winter's purchase of a North Face anorak. It's not a statement garment! What a relief. I can't wait to sell that depressing sucker. And I know exactly what I need to replace it with. Simple blazers in navy, black and gray for winter and navy, gray and white for summer.<br /> 2. Simple straight leg trousers in navy, black and gray for winter and navy, gray and white for summer.<br /> 3. Crew neck merino and cashmere sweaters in navy, black and gray for winter.<br /> 4. Crew neck cotton 3/4 sleeve sweaters in navy, gray and white for summer.<br /> 5. Dark wash straigth leg and bootcut jeans.<br /> 6. Black booties and black knee high boots for winter<br /> 7. Silver pumps and silver sandals for summer. </p> <p>I used to have pencil skirts and sheath dresses in navy, black and gray, and cardigans in all neutrals but i don't wear them much lately, so not on the list anymore. Also black pumps became not essential. </p> <p>I prefer my outerwear and my bags to make statement and don't have essentials in those categories. </p>
