Wow, you really did put the work in. And thanks to Angie's insight on yours, I can also see that I could use a tad bit of lightening in my own wardrobe.
Can't wait to see how this all pans out for you!

Thanks Rachy! The oxfords Runcarla showed were actually one of the first things I pinned onto my board when I first started on Pinterest. I could see some light blue, or rosé colored ones. Maybe even light yellow.

Thanks Beth Ann!

Thanks Runcarla! Both good suggestions. I love those colored oxfords!

Thanks Inge! I agree to add not just whites, I definitely need some other colors as well. I love all your links, thank you for looking those up! I love the Esprit lace blouse, especially great that it has so much cotton in it (and a great price too). I might try it. Also love the chambray shirt, it's true that this kind of blue suits me. It isn't left in my size, but I might see if I find something similar. I've wanted to add a denim/chambray shirt for some time. I love the blue and white Zara blouse, it looks like a china pattern. The pattern of the Zara blazer is also just lovely, but that one might not fit me. It looks like it's cut very straight and long. The Esprit blazer might work though! I love that it's unlined cotton, perfect for warm weather. It's so pretty. I've also seen just now that they have my striped shirt again at Esprit, in the red blue I have and now also in a yellow http://www.esprit.de/new/taegl.....Q24661_754! I agree about adding some metallic sandals, they're a perfect neutral while elevating an outfit at the same time. I had these Clarks sandals on my list for a while, I might try them when I come back from my trip http://www.clarks.de/p/20352738. And another bag. I didn't want to invest lots of money in a new bag, but I thought I might try to find a nice canvas bag in a spring color for little money. I once had a rosé colored slouchy canvas crossbody bag from H&M, I loved that one.

Thanks Raisin! I agree that I could to with more jackets, especially ones that go over jeans. I'd also love a second pair of oxfords, I just love the look of oxfords with everything, but especially skirts and dresses. And yes to the winter jacket, I really need two new coats, a wool coat and something really warm. But I've been looking for a long time already and didn't find something. I might need to make that top priority next fall.

Ok I finally got back! Love this, you have laid out your wardrobe nicely. This is so cool because now you know what you have and like, and you can also go to this quickly to make outfits and plan for trips. Now you have me inspired to catalog my wardrobe!

I agree with others. I love to see some nice spring colors. And it's perfect timing! I'd also like to see some fun shoes, maybe some booties or really fun spring oxfords. What about jackets? You could do some blazers, motos, and could add a colored winter jacket if that's needed in your area. I bet there are some good deals right now.

Well done! This is such an inspiring venture!

You did such a thorough job with this, Astrid, wow! I'm enjoying reading about your insights and fashion plans, and you've received such great advice too.

You already have a good number of "building blocks" to create outfits with in place, Astrid. And you've now identified some wardrobe holes, which is great progress too.
I agree about adding some different footwear options and more lighter colours (not just whites, but perhaps also soft yellows - look great with white and light grey - lavender, mint, pinks, greens, light and mid blues?)

As most of your bottoms and toppers are solid colours, I'm also thinking that adding a bit more print and pattern, shine, and textural interest will help you to mix things up more. Perhaps by means of florals, paisleys, a bit of lace or a mixed media top?

And how about adding a pair of gold or silver metallic oxfords/loafers/sandals, and a pastel or bright-coloured bag for Spring?

I could see these work for you:
http://www.esprit.de/sale/dame.....L60904_103

http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs.....K%20BLOUSE
(reminds me a little of Delft crockery)

http://www.wefashion.de/Blusen.....SVNExxsjW9

I was also going to suggest a white denim jacket, but since you mentioned that you don't like denim on denim for yourself, perhaps a blazer or jacket in a light colour or a (floral) print would be more versatile?
http://www.esprit.be/women/all.....P21491_434

Thanks Rachy! I agree, another dress would be a good idea. And I also agree about the non-denim, non-corduroy pants, because then I could wear my denim jackets over those. I'm not a fan of denim on denim on me, I never succeeded to make that work. Maybe also an denim jacket alternative (lightweight jacket/blazer) to wear with my jeans when the coat is too warm. I still want to rescue that dress, I really like it. I had to have it tailored when I bought it, I thought about going back with it and asking if she can adjust it somewhat.

Thanks Raisin! I've seen your recent posts about your Pinterest board and wardrobe planning and I'm looking forward to see what you are going to add to your wardrobe.

Thanks Texstyle! You and Rachy both suggested non-denim pants and I agree. Those are definitely going on the list. I had a look at tracking for the bfs and they might arrive tomorrow - that would be great! I agree about the shoes too. That one pair of oxfords above really made so many of my outfits, ao yes, great shoes are important. I'll start with one pair of sandals, it will be difficult enough to find those. I have wide feet and sandal shopping is worse than jeans shopping.

Thanks Amiable. I agree, trying to find out your favourites is a good idea. I actually think your developping your own style really fast, it took me two and a half years with YLF to get that far. :)

Thanks Caro! Our summer are rather short than long, or that has been the case in the last years at least. But it can get very warm too, so I definitely need some options like shorts, sandals and so on. Items that translate well into other seasons are a good idea. I would be willing to buy one summer skirt that only works with bare legs, but all other should work with tights or at least hose. Skirts and shoes, good plan. I'm going over it all to make a list I'm going to post to keep myself accountable.

Thanks Jenny! #3 is a favourite of mine as well.

I agree with the others about lighter pieces. If your summers are short I'd try to make sure that most things could cross over into spring/autumn e.g. skirts to wear with sandals & top or tights & layers/knits.

If I were you the first things I'd buy are a couple of skirts (or dresses if you can find them) & some shoes. My reasoning is: #23 - #27 you have so many lovely toppers that it would make sense to buy skirts or dresses that would work with these so you get more use out of them. Shoes imo make or break an outfit, they also change an outfit from casual to dressier so this would give you more options too.

Love your outfit pictures & your Pinterest board.

Wow! You put a lot of work into this, and you have a very efficient wardrobe! I'm impressed at your ability to hone it down to what works well for you and your style now. I started doing a similar exercise when I first joined YLF, but then noticed that because I had no sense of my style, my wardrobe was in very rapid flux. So I quit. I feel like the flux is starting to slow, so maybe it's time I started again.

I like the idea of just doing my favorites - perhaps it will help me define my style. And it's a great way to get suggestions for filling wardrobe holes too!

Good luck with finding the perfect floaty skirt and summer sandals!

Great job Astrid - increasing the number of lighter tones was also going to be my first thought -- and shoes and probably another handbag. I bought some red sandals I hope to wear a lot this summer and I think at least one fun bright color like that might be good for you too - maybe teal?

Faded BFs sound good and maybe at least one other pair of non-jean pants. I have black slim pants, camel tiny cords, and a pair of olive khakis --- and I have ordered a pair of subtle floral (very muted blues, deep grays, and sort of a rusty red) pants to try from Lands End Canvas.

Looks like you have a really solid wardrobe so far - I wish I were so organized and commited.

What happened to the checked dress in outfit #17?

You have an amazingly efficient wardrobe. My thought was another dress and a pair of non-denim, non-corduroy, cotton twill pants in a bright color. I like the idea of pink for lightening up. How about a silky button front for the heck of it?

ETA: Oh, ok! I found the dress in #41 of the analysis. Bummer that the fit has gone off. I really liked that, and it went well with Bohemian Prairie Girl.

Thanks Suz! I agree, going lighter for spring and summer (and to some extent also fall/winter) is a good idea. You're right about shoes for warmer temperatures - I desperately need some stylish sandals. The Birks do in a pinch but they are not exactly fashionable. I also would like a pair of booties and another pair of oxfords. And at least one pair of well fitting non-denim summer shorts.

My grandma's skirt is just a smidge too tight, it pinches in the waist. I've kept it though, I might fit into it again in a few months. I love that one. The culottes have a big rip unfortunately. I snagged them on something and the fabric was quite decrepit anyway. I still have them, I might try to mend them when I have the time.

Astrid, good for you. This is a really helpful exercise.

Based on what you have said so far and what I know of you, I would agree with Angie, that you could definitely stand to add some lighter items and some mid-tones. I know for me, mid-tones are the most flattering of all, and although our colouring is not identical, we fall into the same colour "family." Mid blues, mid greens, teal, etc. could work so beautifully on you. And sprinkled with white or light items they would give you a much more spring-summer like look.

That is the other suggestion I would make. Since you are on a tight budget. concentrate for now on a few key pieces for your spring/ summer capsule. You live in a temperate climate so most of these will be cross-seasonal to some extent. But at the same time, you will certainly need a few things that are truly summer.

I am so sad to see that the fit is now off your plaid dress - it was so great!

What happened to the full summer skirt you altered from your grandmother? And how about the culottes?

I would also say you need some new summer footwear options!

Thanks Abby! I've almost replaced my whole wardrobe already since joining YLF, both because I gained weight and because my wardrobe was in a horrible state. But I've never done it in a systematic way. And now that I have a style persona and know what I want I thougt it was a good idea to go about it in a more planned way. And believe it or not, I'm actually fairly new to green. I've discovered the color over a year ago and just love it!

Thanks Sara. I'm lazy too, but it was alright once I started. I just have to get going, finishing something is always easier than starting to me. And I agree about the skirts and dresses! I love to wear them and I don't have enough. I have three winter skirts (counting the other plaid), that's enough for that season. I do need more options for spring/summer/fall though. I actually had more skirts than I have now that I wore with the jackets, but they all got purged for various resons. Some wear too small (too tight in the waist) because I gained some weight a while back) and I finally got rid of all the ones with an elasticated waist - I felt so frumpy in them. I kept two that were slightly too small in case I loose some weight. And with the dresses - I love them in theory, but I have a hard time finding ones that fit. Maybe I just need to accept that I have to tailor those in any case.

Wow Astrid! That represents a lot of work - good for you! I''m new to the forum and I've just started doing the same thing with my wardrobe. It is so satisfying to figure out what works, why it works, and what the missing pieces are. I have to tell you I love your hair. And I just love you in green. Also the photos with stripes are favorites of mine!

Hmm, interesting exercise that I would love to duplicate but the thought of having to hang everything back up always turns me off (I'm so lazy). My initial reaction is that you need a couple more skirts and dresses - it seems that many of your tops and jackets only work with skirts and dresses but you only have 2 skirts and one dress that you like.

Forgot to add the link to my Pinterest, it's here http://pinterest.com/ridrin/my-style/. And it actually has more lighter and softer colors than my wardrobe has right now! Seems like I'm good with pinning but not so much with buying. Maybe the lightwash bf jeans I have on order will work out.

Yes, I think it really is worthwile! I'm going to see what feedback I get and make a list in the end what things I might add and look out for. I can totally see a white full skirt working! If the skirt lengths get longer. I'm going to do some experimentation with white, but I think not too harsh, more cool than warm colored. Not sure what that is called? And yay for the midtones! I'm not a big fan of pastels.

I had a look for some outfits that I liked and felt good in and that are fairly representative of what I'm wearing everyday. I'm going to post them below.

I forgot to add how giddy your post made me. I love to see people put in the effort and get stuck into finding wradrobe solutions! It's sooooooooo worthwhile.

Remember that there are shades of white - and you might prefer an ivory to a pure white. Or a bone or oyster. Experiment!

How about a white full skirt? I can just see it with delicate earth tone accessories and a mid tone green or blue top. So flattering on you. And so BPG :)

Think mid tones too. Not quite pastels and not quite brights. You look so good in that new lighter grey cardi.

Thank you, Angie! It was a lot of work, but I feel like I have a much better picture now of where I am at the moment. And you are SO right about needing to light up! It's true that I have delicate coloring, I don't have much contrast. Softer shades are more flattering, but also harder to get right, I feel. I'm going to try though. I agree about the white. I did have a white jacket that I really liked some years back, it was a flattering shade on me. Although I'm very unsure what white goes and what not. I can see myself doing some white tops or a white (or lightly patterned) dress. White bottoms not so much.

WELL DONE!!! An excellent exercise and you were brilliantly thorough about it.

Straight off the top of my head, you need to lighten up! And by that I mean add lighter coloured items to your wardrobe. It's a very basic but obvious and big gap. You have delicate colouring and wear softer shades and lighter shades well.

How do you feel about that, Astrid? Bohemian Prairie Girls can wear white too
