Sorry my response has taken so long! I'm sort of limited on time lately, and I'd rather spend the time I have commenting on other people's posts. :)

Thank you all for the feedback! After reading your responses, and also that Patience and Tanya have ordered their Docs, I'm doubly excited about ordering mine. I bought a DVF dress with my allowance for this two weeks, so I'll have to wait a little white to order mine (I still have to get Brendan's Christmas present). But I'm definitely going to do it now! :D

I think I will try them with skinny jeans. The only skinny jeans I have right now are black. I went to Express today and tried on the Mia skinny jeans in Tidal Rinse and really liked them. Do you all have issues with the ink rubbing off? If not, then I will buy those and probably wear the boots with them. Yay!

Patience, thanks for the compliment on my legs! I will try to remember it when I wake up early and don't want to go to cycling class, hee hee. Boots and skirts is definitely perfect fall/winter wear for Austin. I'm finding myself investing more and more in dresses and skirts. I'm actually thinking of going over entirely in the summer, and only having one or two non-dress/skirt bottoms. We'll see, I guess.

Antje, the red skirt is Calvin Klein. I got it at TJ Maxx a few months ago. I wish we had a Club Monaco here (I'd probably shop it as much as J. Crew), but the closest one is in Houston. Definitely give it a shot with a denim jacket! I love my denim jacket--it makes almost anything look more casual. Another casual option for the red skirt is a blousy white button up shirt belted over the top, with ballet flats and a cardigan. Or, a chunky knit sweater belted over the top with knee high boots would look more casual, too. Something like this:

http://www.express.com/catalog.....egoryId=20

http://www.express.com/catalog.....egoryId=20

http://www.express.com/catalog.....egoryId=20

I might get that first sweater in cream and do as I suggested, with Doc Martens!

Yes, yes, yes! They're great. I love how they'll juxtapose the frilly feminine with a harder edge. Super.

Hi Ana - I love those Docs and I think they would look great with all the outfits you posted. Like others, I love the outfit with the argyle sweater and ruffled shirt. Docs would be a really fun look with that outfit. Looking forward to seeing pictures!

Hey Ana, is that red skirt in the first photo the one from Club Monaco with the little pleats in the back? I have that and LOVE it, and it looks similar. What a cute outfit you assembled with it! So far I've worn mine only with black in a way that's definitely more "evening", but I'm taking note and will try it with a denim jacket, too.

I wouldn't hesitate for one second Ana! You will rock the combination of the tougher looking boots with your feminine tops and beautiful skirts. Your new haircut makes you extra girly (I mean that in a positive way) and the contrast will be killer.
(if only I was so sure about being able to pull off the look for myself;-)

DO get the boots Ana!!

I agree with all the other comments, those outfits will look wonderful with the docs. I love that argyle vest. I'm curious to see if you do plan to wear them over skinnies as well. Can't wait for you to get them!

I think those are all great Ana and would go great with boots. You could also try skinnies tucked into boots - that's how I intend to wear mine most of the time. You look beautiful in all your outfits, I especially like the one with the argyle vest.

Thumbs up here. I think you could even wear them with the outfit your wore Friday except for the heat. I've been thinking lately that knee high boots with skirts are a good fall compromise here. We get to wear the boots but keep cool with the skirt. Your legs look great, btw.

I absolutely agree with aj--yes to all outfits, especially the ruffled-blouse one (which I am going to copy sometime soon. So cute.) You're beautiful! I think the Docs will be extra great with your haircut. They seem to "go" for some reason.

Hi Everyone!

After Angie's blog post last week, I'm contemplating buying these Doc Marten boots in black:

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/36136870/c/31237.html

BUT, I wanted to make sure I had some outfits I could wear them with, first (so they don't become closet orphans). I came up with three outfits this week (actually I came up with 4, but the photos of that one didn't turn out, and I didn't like it all that well anyway). Friday and Saturday were too warm to put a "Doc Marten" outfit together (temps were in the low 80s).

So, here are my three so far. Please let me know how you all think the boots would look. Sorry about not being able to actually try the boots on and take photos, but the boots are not available in Austin, I'd have to order them.

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....1080-1.jpg

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....1088-1.jpg

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....1097-1.jpg

Thanks again everyone!
