Marlene, I like those quite a lot. Arch support is so important for sandals!

Von, I look at Chaco tan lines as a summertime badge of honor. If I have Chaco lines, that means I've been having a good time.

There are a lot of Birkies types out there, just have to search. And the wide price range too makes me think they will be really "in" this summer! Even Target has Muk Luks that look like the old classic Birks, and are around $30.00. 6 pm has them too, but you have to search under the brand, as they don't come up under sandals. And also in so many colors..I am looking to replace some of my flip flops with them..

I am skipping Birks completely, I cannot imagine them looking cute on my feet. That being said, I'm a complete Chacos junkie (not really much cuter), and I'm already planning to buy a few pairs for the summer. They will have to suffice. If you aren't willing to do Birks and have high arches, Chacos are great. Before mine were lost at the beach this fall (booo hoooo!!!), I wore them for 6 years and the sole still wasn't worn down.

They do leave wicked tan lines though, which is the only downside.

Thanks for sharing! I have high arches and I'm not familiar with this brand, so I will definitely look into them.

Those are sharp. I bought Abeo pewter-color sandals last summer and loved how they looked. They felt generally good on my plantar fascitis feet; however, if I was on my feet longer than a couple hours, my feet would still start to hurt. They were best for days when I wasn't on my feet much.

I like them! Although public service announcement in case you don't know this-- Birkenstock does sell a few "high arch" styles with higher arch support than the standard birks. Unfortunately, there's never as much style variety. I bought a nice simple black pair years back.

I am pretty excited that Birks are back! My only challenge is that my arches are so high that actual Birks are not supportive enough for my extra fussy feet. I was in The Walking Company today and bought these:

http://www.thewalkingcompany.c.....lack/22395

They have the general appearance of birk sandals but with an amazing arch support. They didn't have my size in stock so they are sending them to me. I can't wait!
