Thanks everyone!
Thmblelina, I think I've just worn this outfit so much over the past few years that I'm getting tired of it. At least it makes dressing easy when you don't feel well :)

Aida, I tried scrunching the sleeves up but was too cold. I like your suggestion of adding a big scarf - I think I have one that will work nicely. I was going to wear booties, but all my black booties have heels, and it just wasn't a "wear heels" kind of day! Booties next time for sure.

Suz, I hope you feel better soon too!

Deborah, Joy, Tanya, and Laura, I've always wondered if short sleeved sweater dresses were meant to be worn with long sleeved tees underneath - I can't imagine anyone being warm enough without one! Wearing something over this wouldn't work as the sleeves are too loose and wide. For future purchases, if it's cold enough to wear a sweater, I think I want one with long sleeves.

Angie, I love wearing black with either brown or ink blue - those colors that, back in the day, you weren't supposed to wear with black! I feel like I'm breaking the rules :)

Sorry you are feeling sick, hope you recover fast!

I like the outfit - I personally like layering long sleeves under short ones. I have a slight preference for the darker hose.

I forgot to answer your question. I prefer the black knee-highs with the outfit.

Karie either hose works nicely here. Maybe the black hose is more tonal and creates a nice flow for the eye. I tend to layer over my shorter sleeve tunics is I need warmth. For some reason I don't feel as good layering under..not sure why but it may have something to do with my own perception of maintaining the integrity of the garment.

Looks pretty good to me! I prefer the nude hose over the black, and push the sleeves up to echo the skin there (though the black looks good with the sleeves down). As for the layering, I would personally either make it looks layered layered (like what you did, but with boots and and a giant scarf), suck it up and have cold arms, or just leave it for transitional weather. Get better soon!

A nice FFBO. Fun to see brown paired with black again. Looks fresh.

Karie and Suz, feel better soon. xo

This is a cute cozy outfit. I like it slightly better in #1. I've never felt right wearing long sleeves under short but this layering looks great on you. It probably depends on the shape and length of the sleeves on the garments.

Cool pendant. I have one short-sleeved sweater dress and I tend to wear it with a blazer/jacket, so I can have it on/off depending on the warmth of the day. I personally don't like wearing long sleeved tees under dresses. The key seems to be to pick those perfect in-between days weather wise.

I've got nothing for you: I was disappointed with my own outfit today. You look cute! But if it doesn't feel good... Grrr... Just wanted you to know I love that necklace! It's terrific.

I've been down for the count the past few days with a sinus infection, but I had to get it together today and get to work as I was doing a craft activity with the kiddos for a "1,000 books" event after school. I can't even call what I wore a FFBO, it's really just a FBO, as everything except the shoes is a few years old. I'm hoping that the shoes pull the outfit into JCE (just current enough) territory.

I wore it with the nude hose (pic 1), but does it look better with black hose (pic 2) or is either fine? And how do you wear short sleeved sweater dresses/tops - with a long sleeved tee underneath or do you just endure having cold arms?

Black ponte knit pants - Target
Brown long sweater - JCP
Black long sleeved tee - Macy's
Leopard pumps - Hush Puppies (Shoebuy)
Necklace - self made (photo on a transparency, ink, fused to a domino)
